IT's funny that we argue about the MVP in this team.
YOU guys have to understand what" MVP" means.
Scola is pretty consistent these season, but he cant lead the team to win.
That's why when he got 0pt VS Celetics,we could still win.But if Yao get 0pt when VS elite teams,we cant win.

negative, though scola is absolutely more capable than yao. sometimes you have to take yao's chinese bandwagoners into consideration, and do not ever underestimate their influence. Yao is the western starting center every year since he joined the league, the only exception is the all-star weekend of 07 because he kneed was not well during that period.

Even not a question. Rox without Yao vs Rox without Scola. Which is better?
Without Scola, we can start Landry or even Hayes. But can you expect Muto to be as functional as Yao?

Who cares about team mvp. Give it to Yao along with his "Most doubled player in the NBA" award. Means nothing!

scola is absolutely more capable than yao?
IF Scola is more capable than Yao, our rival would double scola, not yao.
If Scola is more capable than Yao,he may play a more important role in the team than Yao,but the fact is not,he cant even attract much defense on him. Did you watch the latest game we played agaist Spurs?Everyone's attention was on Yao,and Yao can pass the ball to Scola easily.
    PS:
What makes you hate Yao and his Chinese fellow citizens so much?

Scola plays very well,it seems that he is a gift that the Spurs gives us.Frankly speaking, two or three years ago, when I watched some PFs like Swift playing,I never dreamt that one day we can have a PF like Scola. In this way,I always believe that he is also a gift that the God gives us rocketmen. But,in my opinion,Yao is undoubtfully the MVP.He is the foundation of this team, he does his best, and he gets success. He does what a MVP does.No one can deny this...

    Numbers speak

    Yao

    ppg:19.6, 23th in NBA
    rpg:9.8, 6th in NBA
    bpg:1.9, 6th in NBA
shooting average: 54.6%, 8th in NBA
    ft average:86.9%, 18th in NBA

    Scola

    ppg:12.6,71th in NBA
    rpg:8.8, 12th in NBA
    bpg:0.1, 145th in NBA
shooting average: 52.7%, 14th in NBA
    ft average:75.9%, 101th in NBA

My conclusion: Scola can compete with Ron for the 2nd best. But Yao is no doubt MVP for Rox. :)

I am also a Scola Fan. I envision them to be the best duo in NBA. And I see chemistry sprouting...

I don't think we have an MVP on this team. Every player takes a bit of a surge then loses it.

Yao MVP: most valuable and most expensive
Scola MPP : most popular person he's playing smart
Artest MCP: most crazy person he always thinks he's MVP in the 4th quarter
Batier MCP: most consistent person he scores consistently low like yijianlian does in the nets.
AB M0P: most 0 person:) 0 defense & 0 assist he has no idea what he is doing to the team

Morey has some reason to say so. the Scola trade was his most celebrated trade ever. Battier is the major sample of his "new stat system" and "intangibles theory". both of them make morey look brilliant. Yao? Yao came to houston before morey did.

I love morey, scola and battier, so I forgive his self-assertive comment :) but the truthful answer to the team MVP question is really obvious.
