not only is he a flopper, but he usually tries to get a cheap shot in on the other player. watch the play where landry blocks him again. notice how paul takes out landry. watch when he drew that cheap foul on deke. when he fell down he kicked one of his legs at deke. i know why rafer was mixing it up with paul. b/c paul is ruthless.
in one of the replays paul actually, i think, tripped in this one. i hate to say it, but i think he tripped.
Like shooting, rebounding and shot blocking, flopping is a skill that makes a difference to the game. Some may say it's dirty, but doesn't every single team do the same thing on the offensive side when drawing fouls? How is flopping dirtier than that? It's called playing smart.
maybe is underrated cus hes a great player where other floppers like floplinko and others just typical.
I dont see many Rockets taking a tumble thru the lane after a drive where they barely get touched. I dont see it happen on many teams. I see a few individuals do it, namely Allen Iverson, Manu Ginobili, and Chris Paul. And Baron Davis in one mock flop against the Jazz. But at least AI and to a lesser extent Manu get some decent contact.
I never get people like Karl Malone and Chris Paul. They are great players by their talents alone. Why do they have to play dirty to win? It's just beyond me. I mean, if you are a mediocre player, I'd understand that you may think you need that dirtiness to get ahead. But why would you want to play dirty when you are one of the best in the league?
Ever heard the fable The Scorpion and the Frog? "It's their nature." http://www.aesopfables.com/cgi/aesop1.cgi?4&TheScorpionandtheFrog
Indeed I don't mind having this "greatest" flopper in the NBA as Rockets' starting PG and KL as his back-up .
Sorry if I was being unclear, my version of drawing fouls wasn't about flopping on the offensive end, but by leaning forward on the opponent while making a shot to get a possible 2+1, not all teams flop but every team draw smart fouls. Another example is if the defender has a hand in your face before you even decide to shoot the ball, make some contact and THEN shoot it to get to the free throw line.
