Anytime we have a terrible 4th quarter team, the reason is we have a terrible coach!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kobe took 23 shots,Yao took 9 shots. Guard and center Not compatible.Imagine what if Jordon didn't retire,How Dream fight with Bulls?
I really do not get the b****ing and whining about this lose as Kobe beat Rockets sound and square WITHOUT Bynum AND Odom. Yao is not and will never be a dominant player unless he learns how to seal his man and use his elbow to protect the ball. Ron is jst been Ron----I'd take him on Kobe over Shane any day and twice on Sunday. Our bench is terrific but PJ and Kobe are just too much for RA and Yao, simple as that.
The Coach has to take some blame because they still have problems with getting Yao the ball in the second half. Brooks is quick and the Rockets should consider using Yao or Scola to set some screens for Brooks and then the players take what they can get, either Brooks takes it to the lane or Yao gets to spot up close to the rim. One must remember Adleman has an inexperienced point guard and thus the decision making on the court has not been good particularly in the second half, we are a poor scoring second half team and we tend to give up too many points in the fourth quarter. Battier role is becoming questionable because he has had limited impact in the game. Perhaps Wafer should play for Battier down the stretch when scoring is a problem.
Artest was bad offensively tonight. I just don't see the Rox doing well in the playoffs with Battier playing significant minutes. I can not remember a playoff game wheree he had any impact offensively. Yao wilts again under pressure, too many turnovers, too slow to react, can be taken out of the game with a double team because he is so slow. 23 team turnovers is ridiculous. On the plus side, the team is more balanced than a few years even, with contributons from Landry, Brooks, Scola and Wafer.
Yup. I admit I was getting kind of delusional for awhile but tonight was a good wake-up call. I'm still excited for this team and know we'll bounce back against Charlotte, but we need T-Mac to really make some noise in the playoffs.
Against a talented team Like the lakkers you need an edge. the only way you can deal with them is be physical and run the ball. Also you have to trap Kobe all the time. If you let him get his rythym you're dead. The rox are alright this is good to have some tough losses against the elite this will help them in the playoffs. I think we are fine , also it would be nice if coach adelman will make sure he gets yao subbed in the 4th so the offense does not grow stagnant. And shane battier has got to give you at least 7 to 9 points in a game MAN................... this 4 and 5 point games are ridiculous for a professional starter in the NBA
definitely, Artest is a headcase, ready to explode any second (but I wouldn't have mind seeing him deck Kobe ). Very uncomfortable with a headcase like Artest who has pretty much taken the leadership role of the Rockets. One blown fuse and Rockets season might be over.
We got two of the SOFTEST F#@KS in the entire league. Yao waiting for the double team and doesn't know how to seal his man off the ball? Getting out worked all the damn time! How the hell can we win with his slow, no defense, always dunked on always blocked ass?!?!?!?!?!?!? Won't demand for the ball. Get fronted. He freakin sucks for someone that is supposed to be so damn good. T-Mac and Yao. One is a the fu**in twinkie. The other is the filling. Can't wait for 2010 to clear both off the cap space and get some players with iron balls to play in these big games! And fans on this board who always defending losses...looking at bright side...only Yao and T-Mac fans can defend this soft bull*****. Unreal.
Tough loss by the Rockets. Turnovers killed us. Battier's inability to make a shot is getting old. He was basically left alone on offense and couldn't make the Lakers pay. With losses like this, we may end up 7th or 8th in the West.
No poise. Starts with Yao. On the defensive end, moving his body instead of foot, just forget how to play when the game is tight. On the offensive end, fail to seal his man, rush shots. Artest, good effort, bad shots. Tries to do too much. But I am encouraged by our young guys, they will keep learning and improving. All and all, not too upset with this loss.
I agree with you in this, it is a coach´s job to call up plays for the players that are playing good offense if the PG is not doing it. We always go by default to Yao (even knowing we cant because "there is a way to pass the ball to Yao that no player knows") and we never EVER go to scola at the end, and the guy, like it or not, is consistent.
what's wrong with that? better than dribbling the ball until the shot clock burns out and launching an ugly shot.
Yao is just not the type of player who will throw his elbows arond, ever. Even if he does, offensive calls will make you guys mad all year long. It's just how things are going in NBA. Just face it, the two best players who knows when, where and how to get the ball to Yao is gone, that's Tmac and Rafer. Battier is another guy who can do this on a semi consistent base. Days that Yao scores 25-30 points consistently is over with current PG and coach. We are going to live or die by 3 pointers. That's just the reality.
Observations: 1) Shane and Ron's 3-pt misses were huge losses in production. 2) Artest could single-handedly be said to have lost it for us in the 2nd half, with his cold-shooting 3's, turnovers, and fouls. What he gave us in the 1st half, he took away in the 2nd. Soemtimes that how the dice rolls out. 3) Pau was as big a problem as Kobe. Pau scored with those 7 foot shots quite consistently. 4) Didn't keep the Lakers off the offensive boards early in the 3rd, where the game turned. 5) Someone text Yao when a player leave his man to pick Yao's pocket on the blind side. 6) Yao seriously needs to watch tape of the great NBA centers to see how they handled their opponents physically. And I don't mean tape of Ewing. He needs, like other have pointed out, to make some room for himself with elbows out. I hope it's not too late to learn. 7) The coach needs to tell Ron to keep his freelancing to a minimum. 8) Need to run more plays for Landry, Von Wafer, and Brooks. 9) THe only safe lead for the Rockets is a 25-point one. (Or at least it hasn't been proven that such a lead can fall... yet).
