Spoiler I liked it, I just don't see why the squid had to be taken out. If you haven't read the graphic novel, don't expect to understand a lot of it or even like it for that matter.
Enjoyed it thoroughly. The deviations from the book werent enough to make me not like it. Rorschach was a badass. As I said, I liked it, but Im not as picky on comic book movies as some of the fanboys are.
I enjoyed it! I was impressed that they could translate the basic plot of the graphic novel to the big screen. Really looking forward to the director's cut.
Has anyone that has not read the book(s) ( I don't know how many there were) seen this? Is it something that you can enjoy without any prior knowledge of the story?
I was just thinking that most of the people last ngiht who said it was "too slow" for them were all people who never read the novel. Ive read it a few times, so the pacing was fine for me. BUt if you havent read it, you may feel differently.
Spoiler I think adding all those components, the island, the author, possibly the pirate story, etc... it was just too hard to translate. I mean when you read it it does come off as pretty random initially.
LOL at the people calling it a "novel." It is a comic book. Or several comic books put into the same binder. "For those who haven't read the novel, it may be difficult to follow"=geek buffoonery at its finest.
How to post in threadz, by Fatty FatBastard: 1. gauge prevailing popular sentiment 2. enter thread, espouse counterpoint denouncing prevailing sentiment and associated conventions as shams, and imply that all who harbor such sentiment are inferior 3. enjoy!
It's a limited series of comic books collected into one book. The story is self contained. It doesn't go on and on like a comic book such as Spiderman.
Oh good lord. If this isn't the pot calling out the kettle, I don't know what is. Not enough people to pick a fight with in the D&D today?
Thanks, I have always wondered what a Graphic Novel is...exactly....so it is a series of comic books.......with an overlying plot or theme, with a beginning, middle and end to the story. Cool... DD
