lol at anyone who picked Artest. When healthy T-Mac's is in the top 5 in the league. Granted he hasn't been fully healthy all year so far.

I completely disagree. I thought we demonstrated just last season that we were a contending team until Yao left for the season.

We finished last year with a 55-27 record. The #1 seed belonged to the Lakers at 57-25. Yao missed the final 26 games of the regular season. Ron Artest was not on this team. Again, we were just 2 games away from getting the #1 seed and Yao missed the last 26 games. You do the math.

This poll is just as enlightening as tinman's polls.

I don't know but I'll pick both of them over Yao Ming any day.

overall, mcgrady is a far better player. his talent is just god-given. few in the league ever comes close.

by default, a better player is a more valuable player.

LOL ... and the perpetual amnesia of ClutchFans continues. Seriously, is it that some of you people are incapable of remembering anything beyond a week or two ago?

How is this even a question? Year in, year out, the evidence has proved it over and over again: without McGrady, this team struggles to win games. With McGrady, they have a pretty dominant winning record, postseason struggles aside.

Artest, on the other hand, is a newcomer seeking to revitalize his career. I think we can fully appreciate Ron Artest and the qualities he brings to the team -- toughness, grit and physical talent -- but any notion that he is somehow more valuable to the Rockets at this point is laughable at best.

What is the point of this thread no offense to the op.

We got the both, why are we comparing it?

McGrady and Yao will lead us to the playoffs and win us games. However, the whole point of Artest is that he is the BIG edge pushing us pass games that we lose.

If with McGrady and Yao, we win 13 out of 20 games, Artest will make that 18 or 19.

Who is more valuable at this point doesn't matter, it's whether our big 3 will throw in their slice of the pie to take us to the top.

Tracy is the most valuable player on this roster. He makes everyone better and easier to score. The record with vs without him can't be debated.

When it comes to the playoffs anyone who says other than Tracy is out of their minds. Yes, he is fragile. Yes, he is mentally soft. But when it comes to playoffs time he is more valuable than the rest of our team, Yao included.

Yao is a workhorse and to be admired as a baller despite his major flaws but he is not Tim Duncan. He just can't carry a team in the playoffs. Tracy is the wing player who will make us or break us. No T-Mac on this team? No playoffs.

Someone tell me the record when T-mac and Yao plays and when Artest and Yao plays.

I would love to see that record.

It looks more like the other way around, except T-Mac is like crap while Artest is luxury.

i hate hate hate when people keep saying "when tmac is healthy he's top 3 or top 5 in the league" newsflash, he will never ever ever be healthy again so rephrase the question wqould you like 100% ron artest a lockdown defender or 40% of what tmac used to be, basically tmac minus the athletic finishes at the rim and a decent jumpshot that isnt exactly ray allen by any means

considering tmac will never be tmac circa 2001 again i can name about 10-15 wings id rather over him right now, for our team specifically id love to raja bell playa the 2, the spacing he would give you would be unreal, does anyone remember the olajuwon days when he'd get doubled and you had kenny, vernon and horry waiting to kill a 3 on the perimeter? Well now rafer, tmac are the anti dream day guards. Bell is a terrific defender and great 3 pt shooter

    who is valuable?

    Yao #1, Artest #2.

Even Head is more valuable than Tmac.
