I put the ninjas on last night. They kept adding more every time I would go back to try out other ones.
The Globex theme is nice but it's a little too complex and memory-hungry to be practical. Bah...I'm still waiting for it to show up on my account. You'd think that those of us very early beta adopters would get to try out the goodies first, but no...
I got mine within like two weeks of that April Fools day announcement (remember when we all thought Google was pranking everyone with this "1GB webmail service"?). Used to do open source coding back then, and it was rather easy for me to get an invite from people with connections.
I've been rockin' Terminal on one account and Contrast Black on another for a few days. I've been using Clutchfans Dark for so long now...I need every page to be black or it hurts my eyes!
Yeah I'm rocking the Terminal theme, very nice. I had been using the Gmail Redesigned but I like this more.
It's kind of funny how people are all over this because it's Google, even though this type of customization has existed at Lycos and Yahoo since the late 1990s...some people used it there as well, but overall, customization features are somewhat overrated. It's not a high percentage of users that go for it. I don't think many users use igoogle, for instance. Ultimately, igoogle and gmail, etc. will merge to be one product.
Hotmail sucks. They switched up the themes and they have 8 horrible themes. None of them dark. The good part is that it's faster now, almost as fast as gmail. Now I'm gonna have my messages forwarded to gmail.
