Yeah I know...Sweeny Todd, Secret Window, Edward Scissorhands may be among his more notable dramatic roles. But Johnny Depp taking on the Riddler reminds me too much of Jim Carrey trying to do it. Not saying Depp would bring his usual quirkyness to the role (and yes I know his roles aren't always quirky) but I want to see someone who can play someone really sinister and creepy...like a Kevin Spacy in Seven, an Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lector. If Depp can do that great...but at this point; and seeing what Heath Ledger accomplished, I don't mind a lesser known, slightly unproven actor taking the reigns of whatever villain comes next.
I thought Aaron Eckhardt was a much weaker link than Maggie. Especially once he became Two-Face and needed to yell most of his lines, and bug his eyes... total fail. He was fine as a district attorney, though he just can't hold the stage with Bale, Freeman, Ledger, et al. Not trying to rag on him, but if we have to definite weak links... And plot wise, it was difficult to swallow that the joker's small gang kept successfully planting enormous troves of fuel all over the place with nobody noticing. I know, I know, a comic book, but Batman Begins didn't leave me with the same feeling in that respect.
Some real news... Warner Bros has reached out to Nolan. http://movies.ign.com/articles/899/899655p1.html
If anyone here have EMULE this website from China post up movies very fast over 110k movies! I cant read chinese but you just click on the (red) download button and if you have emule it automatically starts downloading. all their movies are pretty clear too. DVD/Blu Ray converted. well they just posted up THE DARK KNIGHT http://www.verycd.com/topics/342691/
The DVD Screener version of the Dark Knight has been posted on tons of torrents for 3-4 days I believe.
Anybody pumped up for THE DARK KNIGHT blu-ray? I am ready to watch this movie for a THIRD time, this time on my HDTV. Some people already have it too.
you may be able to find it in a smaller "mom and pop" store today or maybe even a rental store for sale. I know the blockbuster by my place sometimes has stuff for sale as soon as they get it regardless of street date...I have seen some movies there for sale/rent even a week before official street date. a bigger store like frys/best buy/circuit city it would be much harder since a lot of these stores have their systems controlled by corporate and the SKU may not be in their POS system to even try to ring up until really early tuesday morning before the store opens even though they may have had the discs since the prior week. my worry is that the blu-ray is going to be all sold out by the time i get to the store tomorrow afternoon. it happened to me with sarah marshall and iron man when those came out.
Just picked up a copy of TDK limited edition with the Clown Mask bobblehead @ The Best Buy @ Richmond and 59. There were about 75-100 people in line. They had 1000 DVDs and 1000 blu-ray in stock.
