Predict team's record first 10 games. I think we have a tough early schedule and I don't think we are ready yet. Still think guys like McGrady are coasting it a bit. I'm thinking 6-4 for the first 10 games with possibly a very high winning percentage over the next 20 games. I really thing we will be around 23-7 after 30 games, which will put us on pace for around 60 wins.
For convenience's sake, I think a list of games is in order here... I'll say 5, and I think that's pretty good, all things considered.
our D isn't as bad as people think and i think that will help us out at the start, when the offense could struggle. our D in the 2nd half was great last night.
thats as tough a start I've seen let's see there's the champ, the western conference champ, the young and potentially dominant team, the young and dominant team that many consider to be the best in the West, always 50 win teams Phoenix and San Antonio, and then there's Dallas on the road. So that leaves Clips, and OKC. Clips are on the road so the real only should be sure win is OKC but I never know what to expect with a team that just moved cities and want to win over the new home fans. If OKC was on the road I would be very worried luckily its not which is about the only lucky thing on that schedule. Then again I think I prefer this because right out of the gate we have a chance to show the whole league who is the best team. If we win 7 or more we will have beaten at least 5 likely playoff teams in our first 10 games. That's a statement.
Somehow I missed the Memphis game which is obviously the season opener. That should definitely be win as well but they are starting to stockpile a lot of good young talent.
I voted 7, with our losses to Boston, New Orleans and one of either the Lakers or San Antonio. But I will be happy with five or six wins.
it's as tough as i have seem in years, but you know what? This is a good omen. For the past 3 to 4 years that i could remember, we always had easy schedule in the beginning and tough ones in the last month or so. I think this is a good sign that we will be on easy street thru the reg reason with 60+ wins.
6 wins would be great considering Alston, Shane, and Tmac situation. Starting off strong will boost chemistry and confidence but let Tmac and Shane fully heal first. It's better to make noise when we're at full strength.
just for grins <table cellpadding=3 border=0><tr><td>Year</td><td>W</td><td>L</td></tr><tr><td>07-08</td><td>6</td><td>4</td></tr><tr><td>06-07</td><td>6</td><td>4</td></tr><tr><td>05-06</td><td>3</td><td>7</td></tr><tr><td>04-05</td><td>4</td><td>6</td></tr><tr><td>03-04</td><td>7</td><td>3</td></tr><tr><td>02-03</td><td>6</td><td>4</td></tr><tr><td>01-02</td><td>6</td><td>4</td></tr><tr><td>00-01</td><td>5</td><td>5</td></tr><tr><td>99-00</td><td>2</td><td>8</td></tr></table> 03-04 ended up being 16-14 btw. Due to youth, injuries and two coaching changes, we've been such a 2nd half team the last 10 yrs, and now we face a brutal early schedule with our best team, yet.
This team need time to bond. Chemistry ain't there yet. That with the brutal schedule, it'll be hard for them to do anything more than 500. 5-5.
Based on the records of the first ten games in the past seasons, i predict that the rockets will begin the year with a 7-3 record. I still think that this team needs time to mesh. By mid-season, that is when the team will hit their highest form. However, don't get too upset if the team finish the first ten games .500 or less. We always start the season poorly and end with a bang.
