I'm looking for a way to bring a little extra cash in the door every month. I used to teach drum lessons, but since I moved to the other side of town, I've dropped my students and I no longer have any place in the house to set up my kit. My buddy buys things (like band instruments) at pawn shops and sells them for a profit on craigslist. He thinks I should start doing that, but I'm not sure about having a bunch of weirdos constantly stopping by my house to look at the merch. What kinds of things do you guys do to make a little extra money? [Queue the predictable pimp and prostitute jokes....]
I find the most effective means to bring in additional money is to be more thrifty with the money I have. Of course, a nice little schedule C business would be handy too, but I'm way too busy at the moment.
one more thing... minimize your expenses (ie ride a bike/bus, dont eat out, set the ac to 80, cover all the windows in foil...)
This is what I do too. It's amazing what people pay for junk but of course sometimes that junk turns out to be a priceless treasure.
got some money invested in some family businesses that can provide me with anywhere from a few hundred to a thousand or so extra a month, but i rarely take more than a few hundred and that's only if i really need it.
I havent had to think about this much because i was pretty comfortable. But now as im in the early stages of seperation from my wife, I am going to really need to make some extra $$. I have never sold anything on EBay. I do have a pretty decent Bball sneaker collection .. might have to sell up? I reckon those things might sell okay.
Websites for small businesses, entrepreneurs, non-profit organizations; computer software/hardware repair; translations, Spanish tutoring (finalsbound never called ); math tutoring; nothing else, I think.
I'm thinking about writing websites for some businesses as well. Are there any tips you can give, i.e, rates, cheap hosts, etc..
I can get my hands on about half a kilogram of something really profitable for you. I can direct you towards some clients. You can work you're own hours. You just have to give me my cut and everyone will be happy. you in?
