I'm not sure what other way I'm supposed to read it. Yao's played with black people but those black people aren't ghetto like me. Either he's saying they aren't as culturally black as him or they are from a different black culture. I'm not sure if Artest even knows what he's getting at. But, there does seem to be an implicit divide in his mind (either way) between his self-proclaimed ghetto culture and wherever it is the core of the Rockets team is from. (I also think he thinks of himself as "more black" but that doesn't even really matter here.)
You say this as if there is no such difference in culture. Artest's "ghetto" culture has some pros like it will bring a real toughness to this team and some obvious cons. This is no different than when Yao came and he brought his respectful but docile culture here. Artest may not be from a different country but he's definitely from a different culture than Yao, Tmac, Shane, and the rest. Any blind man can see that.
JuanValdez, by MY CULTURE he meant his ghetto culture. He was trying to say that he represents ghetto culture more than anyone that Yao's probably ever played with. He was not saying that the players on our team aren't representing BLACK culture as much as him.
The Artest factor begins in houston. It will only grow from here. Ron is as unstable as they come. One day you will turn on your local tv station and hear come dumb ass thing that Artest did. I can see it now "Artest punches out Yao then retires" LOL
Mutombo b****slaps RonRon..battier gets in the middle.... ...rafer laughs.....tmac shakes his head.......yao will quote some chinese metafor like "discontent is just a path to greater bonding"........stevie will do the robot walk.....AB will be holding onto deke leg.......novak will be thinking "my chance to be the next bird".......landry will be saying "why didnt i go to europe"
