I'm glad at least he isn't going to the Spurs. All that talk about winning instead of money was exactly that just talk.

Now if Barry signs with the Rockets today I'll be one happy camper.

    - Golden State and LAC, most likely, goes out of contention
    - San Antonio doesn't get Maggette
    - We get an upgrade over Luther

Why do that if we can trade Luther Head for Stephen Jackson. Somehow. Some way. Maybe. :D

the way Mullin's been handing out contracts, it wouldn't hurt to try. He can be a poor man's Monta Ellis...a very, VERY poor man.

why would maggette sign with the Warriors?

Spurs/Celtics could have offered the MLE as well.

Maybe it was all about PT

Essentially, I think the Warriors are trying to trade for players with better shot selection and higher FG% so they can better translate their high FGA.

Baron Davis was around 42% last year. Jackson was just above 40%. J-Rich was never a high FG% guy. Those guys were money in clutch situations but if you look at their overall contribution to WINS for the volume of shots they took, not as impressive.

Now they don't have a playmaker, but a backcourt with:

    Monta Ellis - 53 %
    Corey Maggette - 46 %

Still nothing special in the West, barely average.

Nah, I think the Warriors still easily sink below playoff potential. Portland, with Oden and another year of maturation, becomes the new threat. From 21 wins to 41 wins? Another high-chemistry guy? I smell 50 wins for them.

magette not signing with the spurs makes it less likely we sign barry. He likes SA, he has a house there and his kids are settled in. Why change your life with the rox for the lle. So whats plan b?

Yep, he got $50 million. It's on foxsports.

After losing Baron Davis, the Warriors needed a star to replace him with.

They got exactly that, from the team which snagged their former PG.
