To elaborate, I'm referring to the halftime discussion on ABC right now.

Yao Ming unfairly targeted during Mav series

Van Gundy was willing to be fined $100K for it. Donaghy is verifying it. If this is true, Rockets fans have a right to be very very angry!

Hey, if it causes Yao to be officiated more fairly, then in spite of his transgressions, God bless Donaghy, and also props to Van Gundy for being forthright-being honest, yet also acknowledging the "grain of salt" approach that needs to be taken with Donaghy's allegations.

my blood is boiling over this, cant beleive cuban's tactics actually worked and then van gundy was made out to be the wrong doer with the huge fine while cuban wasnt fined anything. surprised to see van gundy didnt say more on tv but i guess he's let it go by now

But we knew this all along. Some hard hitting sentencing better come down. Basketball is a sport for entertainment, but they are playing with millions of dollars here and used lives. The punishment must be severe, anything short of the death penalty. I believe I stated on these boards here before, the punishment must be worse than the mob's, the fear of the law must be greater than the fear of the mob.

Whoever said conspiracy was dumb is dumb themselves. People who don't want to face the ugly truth. It may be very well too bad that we can't do much personally about it, it may be unpleasant to think about, but it is only cowardly to deny what is true and what is unjust.

As economists should know, people are not rational.
Actually, scratch that, economists mistakenly believe people to be rational.

Way back when I remember people like you saying that NBA would love nothing more than a Yao vs Shaq in the Finals. The problem is, NBA would love even more for Shaq to remain the most dominant ever one more year and escape Father Time.

It's not enough for something to sound nice, it has to be true
