I agree completely. Rush is actually less skilled than Head, he just happens to be taller. He's a clone of his brother Kareem, who's a fringe NBA player. It'd be different if he had shown improvement throughout his college career, but his game hasn't expanded at all. Rush should not even on our radar.

I don't think CDR will be available. Nick Young was taken in the teens last year, I find it hard to believe that CDR will be taken in the late 20's if Young got taken that high. It's too bad, because I'm pretty sure CDR will be a starter in this league.

Have you seen Hudson play? Articles have been coming out about him lately, but I haven't seen him play at all. Can he actually read defenses or is he just a stat hound?

Yeah, I don't think CDR will be available either. But all the mock draft has him around 20-25 ish. Which I think is just crazy talk!

Hudson's stat is mixed, he's playing against like high school level competition nightly, but he also lit up against good teams such as Memphis, Vanderbilt. I am talking about something like 30pts 10 rebounds performance for a guard, which is crazy. Especially against Derick rose, but again, against memphis it was a blow out game. and against vanderbilt it was closer, but he was just on fire from the 3s. That's why I think rockets going to work out him privately. It's hard to say how good he is or will be. It will be interesting to run him head to head against chalmers in a workout. I hope Rockets work out Chalmers too.

i hope they don't look at brandon rush he's just a taller head. He cannot put the ball on the floor and he likes to stand around the three point line waitng on passes to jack up 3's. we need a wing who really is a slasher.

Thats if he even enters the draft! He probably will, I think he'd be a great addition to a team that has all the pieces already. I just don't know if he'd fit with us. He'd be great to play against teams with a fast 4, but there's no way we could play him as a 3 unless we push T down to a 2. I dunno, he has promise, but is that enough?

What does anyone think about Jason Thompson of Rider. Our window is closing with T-Mac and Yao. We need a senior, someone who can possibly break the rotation next year. Also, possibly sign Mickael Pietrus and/or Gerald Green.

NBAdraft has us taking Chalmers...that's not too bad...he is a high I.Q. defensive stud on the levels of Battier. He improved his shooting each year and hits an incredible 51% (48 % 3 point shooting). He can drive the lanes too. His assist/to ratio improved his junior year. Sticking this bulldog on the Williams and Pauls might be what the doctor ordered. We play great team defense but we don't really have the man on man specialist besides Battier. It might make Battier expendable in that shutting down elite 1's is just as important as elite two's in today's league. Plus Kobe has a higher ppg average since Battier in the Yao Tmac era. Perhaps it is because we use to switch it up on him and now we just let Battier do his thing. Not that we have to...but if something crazy comes around...

If you want a reliable shooter, defender, and all around type of player , Brandon Rush seems the most plausilbe and reasonable pick at our spot. CDR is riding the bandwagon wave of the general public, so he might be picked higher. But I wouldn't want him anyways, his game is just too unorthodox and ambiguous to figure out. Plus his frame is extremely poor even though he has good length.

These are some possible prospects in our range (the 20s) and who I think would fit our team reasonably:

    -Donte Green

-Marreese Speights (I admittingly haven't watched many Florida games, but from what I've seen he has good potential with his ability to shoot the midrange for his height + above average athleticism and fluidness)

-Ty Lawson (in we do take him, we should might as well trade Brooks since Lawson is already a better prospect than him)

-Chase Budinger (assuming his 40+ vertical displays in workouts somehow drop him to our range. One can dream right?)

I like CDR's game like everybody else, but him bricking those fts in the championship game make me think he might be the 2nd coming of Nick Anderson.

Yeah, I'm still a little bitter because Memphis lost. I should've won my NCAA pool. Damn you CDR for costing me mad monies!!!

If Bill Walker is there, we should take him. Morey's prob going to choose somebody that nobody's mentioned yet, though.

If any of these guys fell to us, or we could move up two to four spots, I'd consider the following; Nichols Batum 6'8 sf, Donte Green 6'10 sf, Chase Budinger 6'7 sg, Brandon Rush 6'6 sg in that order.

I'd prefer Batum or Green if it doesn't cost too much to move up. Both are extremely athletic, get to the basket type players. They would benefit under our coaching system, and develop within their first year and contribute. What's most important is that Batum, Green or Budinger would try to put the team on their backs and carry them when necessary. That's what we are lacking right now. Only Budinger might be an occasional liability on defense.

Now I was about to bash Rush and say the usual negative things about him that everyone else does, but before posting this, I watched the u-tube links again. The knock against him is he doesn't take it to the basket and dunk as much as we'd like. But the kid shoots 45% from the field, 43% 3 point range. I also believe he would contribute his first year. He would definitley stretch the defense. He also plays defense. No one knocks Ray Allen for being a clutch pure shooter. If Brandon could be in the same range as Allen, hey. They'd have to honor his shooting and stop packing it in on Yao.
Besides, it appears that Brandon would be on the board when we pick. Imagine him in our offense, or any of these four?

Batum, Green, Chase, or Bandon? After watching how the Lakers defeated the Jazz, we need to build more like the Lakers. Long, athletic, and fast.

NBA wants us to take Chalmers? He's almost as tall as Brooks. Brooks came out with a better scorring average, better assist average, better rebound average, and better free throw average in college. Chalmers has better steals, 3P% and FG% in college. Basically it's almost even considering their college careers. This doesn't sound like much of an upgrade if unless you get rid of Alston or Brooks.

Why is everyone expecting CDR to be available at 25?

He'll fit right in when TMac needs a rest but I just can't see 24 teams passing him up since he had alot of exposure in NCAA tournament.

I think the Rockets will have to move up in the draft to get him and that's not going to be easy by any means.

    Lester Hudson:
    PPG: 25.67
    FG%: 0.464
    RPG: 7.8
    Assist: 4.4

The FG% and Assist tells me he is a shoot first then pass type of player. We already have TMac to do that unless you want to sub him for TMac. But a 6-3 SG will be eaten alive in the Western conference.

I want Lester Hudson in the 2nd round. Don't care if he is a shoot first player.

    Yes, yes, yes and yes.
However they are much alike, Chalmers will be a real upgrade to Brooks and to fortify our PG position. I think Rockets will take at least 2 guards in this draft. Chalmers is like Brooks, a little bit taller, stronger and much much better at defensive end. And also Chamlers' championship experience at Kansas is invaluable. I don't know how to explain it, I mean oregen has a good problem, but it just isn't the same as Kansas program. I think Chamler will be a upgrade for Brooks, if not, at least it will fortify our PG rotation and bring in more competition and maybe it will bring out the best of brooks. Bobby Jackson is old, we need someone who can run the defense. And I believe Chamler can. I think it's wise for rockets to bring at least 4 PG into training camp.
