The first year he was gone, I believe they actually won about the same # of games. I can't believe you made that "not one of the top 5 teams comment." Err... they were. Sorry.

Duncan is carrying the Spurs on his shoulders. No one deserves the award more than him. That's what I think.

Oh, sorry. They had the third best record in the eastern conferences in 93-94 and the fifth in 94-95.

So what are you saying? That since the Bulls almost won the same number of games the first year Jordan left, that they were just as good without him? Give me a break. The competition changes every season in the NBA. If they had Jordan those two seasons, I'm sure everyone would agree that their record would have been a lot better. They couldn't even make it past the second round both seasons Jordan wasn't there. And the year he came back they improved from 47-35 to 72-10. Without Jordan, the Bulls were just a decent team.

    Shaq

Forget about MJ, Kidd or anyone else... Shaq.

I hope Kobe will be MVP, and I think he could because he is playing very good, even without Shaq. But I think Kidd deserves it the most, because he turned the Nets into a champions team. While the Nets were losers last year. So if Kobe doesn't win, I hope it is going to be Kidd.

I hope it won't be Michael Jordan! Because he isn't better than Kobe, Kidd, Garnett, Duncan and Webber. Only because his name is Michael Jordan, it doesn't mean he has to win the MVP.

I'm not kidding...if Jordan were to win MVP, with numbers and a record like they have now, I would consider not watching the NBA for as long as he's in the league...

    ppg 24.8
    apg 5.2
    rpg 6.1
    spg 1.5

What's wrong with those numbers?

Sure, his FG% isn't very good, but its better than Iverson's was last season. But I do agree with you that right now Jordan does not deserve the MVP. Eventhough he's probably caused the most drastic turnaround of a team this season, their record still doesn't put the Wizards up among the elite teams in the NBA. And I think that's the first thing you have to look at when choosing.

But so what if he does win it? Why care so much? Its still pretty unbelievable what he's done with that team. And yes, because he's the most popular athelete ever to walk the face of the earth, he may receive votes for solely that reason. But to not watch the NBA because you don't think someone should win MVP? I think that's a little ridiculous.

    O'Neal, Duncan and Garnett.

    Others need not apply.

No one from the Eastern Conference deserves consideration.

Kobe can't win MVP. Not when playing behind the best player in the league. It would make no sense.
