More interesting stats: AK47 1st round fouls per game 2.7 2nd round fouls per game in fewer minutes 6.0 Boozer is also up a lot. Game 4 should be back in the Lakers favor with Mauer gone. I hope Kobe catches Harpring and a few other Jazz with face bows in the coming games, it will improve their looks.
I knida agree with you. However, the 88/89 Pistons did have a superstar in Isiah Thomas. They also had insane depth. The 04 Pistons did not have a weakness/so-so player in their starting 5. The Jazz do (Brewer).
I know exactly what you mean. I always thought Thomas was star, but not in the same way MJ, Bird, Magic, Dominique, and Dream were. He wasn't of the same caliber, he couldn't dominate the way those players did. His best numbers were in pre 86, as far as scoring and assist, but he was a very clutch player though. But another thing to consider is, Detroit was strong at every position starting and bench wise. Laimbeer/Edwards/Mahorn/Salley Rodman was a future all time great rebounder and defender. Aguire was averaging 22 + ppg in Dallas before he arrived, while they also had Adrian Dantley before. Vinnie Johnson with Dumars and Thomas in the backcourt. Probably the most physical defense there ever was in the NBA. They are probably the trademark for the way defense played in the 90s and possibly even now. 88-89 team was probably the best, they only lost twice in the playoffs and it was against MJ. This team swept unbeaten Lakers team (11-0). I guess they aren't good comparison to Utah. But again, he's not necessarily weak link, maybe on defense. But, he's decent scorer and player....he averages 12 ppg and he shoots over .500%. He's only a second year player, I would take him over some of the Lakers guards and small forwards not named Bryant. I'm sure alot of teams would love to have him as the weak link in their lineup, we could even use a player like that.
Kobe is Kobe so he will get calls. Now that he's the MVP, it further enhances his ability to get favourable calls. Imagine if Yao gets Kobe-like calls and gets on the line 10-15 times a night. It will make the game easier for him and his teammates. Sure contact on the drive versus contact in the paint is officiated differently, but a foul is a foul.
and people on this board said dfish isn't a great role player? look at how the lakers' D just become clueless when he goes out
I think Brewer is a great player. He is the only one on the j*zz I like. Good shooter and very athletic. He could be really good in a few years
turiaf went for the ball and gets ejected it isn't his fault price is a midget who weighs like a pound and was airborne
is this series leading the world in number of times someone grabs the ball, immediately runs into someone, then falls down all over the place to draw a foul? can no one stay on their feet with even slight contact? friggin' annoying.
