Not the first one. What was stupid the 2nd time was how Suns players stupidly followed Manu to the basket with time running out, clearing the way for a wide open 3.
Parker fouling out is huge. He's the main penetrator for the Spurs; they just got a little easier to defend here.
What do you know? Nash misses a FT. Doesn't look like the Suns want this game. Way too many mental stutters here (players and coaches alike). What a damn enjoyable game though...triple overtime anyone?
never fails. teams up 3 will always guard the penetration for the 2 and give up the open 3. granted, tim duncan shouldn't have made the 3 anyway, but you're playing with fire. and the spurs have seemingly gotten 10 or 15 rolls on floaters and short shots today. and 2 hard 3's to force OT and double OT. and shaq almost rips the rim off.
I think I'd prefer them to foul both times. At the end of regulation, they had a foul to give that they could have used, but didn't even use that and gave up the three to Finley. In OT, there was less time on the clock, but as y'all say, they reacted to the drive and left Duncan open. Give SA credit, but I do think that the wise thing to do would have been to foul. I hate the Spurs, but they are definitely showing the character of a champion. This will be a demoralizing loss for one of these teams, but a treat for anyone able to watch it....
doesn't matter as long as shaq in the PnR is letting manu to the basket at will and then getting schooled on the layup b/c he has 5 fouls. half-decent game for game 1 i would say.
This game is a classic. WOW And this is only the first game in the western conferrence playoffs that is supposed to be the best in recent history !!!!
To Phoenix's credit it doesn't look like Nash is just going to let them lose. Everytime it looks like the Spurs are ready to seal the deal he hits a big shot or makes a play. The Spurs don't lose games like this but Nash looks like he has other plans. Can't wait to see what happens next.
