This movie sold out in so many ways. They didn't even explain how card counting works because the casinos paid them off. This movie could have been a classic.
it was explained that it would have bored the audience to death. they wanted to concentrate on the relationships between the characters.

Why are most of their characters European looking? Is this an attempt to sell more to the West? I once read an op/ed detailing the supposed shame that came from losing WW2, which led to a public drive to emulate Western culture in order to modernize. Part of that shame led them to believe that Europeans were better looking. Too bad this was way back or I'd have a link in hand. Nowadays, I think they draw that way out of habit. There's more animation with Asian looking faces. But I too am curious if anyone else has an idea about how the style started.
