Oops, must have turned back the clock. Yes, FIBA changed to 24-sec shot clock since the year 2000, but used 30-sec shot clock prior until then.

"burn really hurts"??? Which part of the country are you from?

    Read this from sohu.com.

    Anyone can confirm?

    http://sports.sohu.com/20080228/n255419950.shtml

    In Summary:

As per Fox Sports TV 26, Yao Ming will seek second opinion from Dr. Robert B. Anderson, MD, of the Miller Orthopaedic Clinic in Charlotte, North Carolina to see whether there is speedier means in lieu of surgery to get him back to court.

Dr. Anderson is considered one of the top Orthopaedics specialists in USA; He serves as President of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society, and is Chief of Foot and Ankle Service in the Department of Orthopaedics at the Carolinas Medical Center and at the Miller Foot and Ankle Institute. He is Co-director of the Foot and Ankle Fellowship at the Miller Clinic. He serves as the vice-chief of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Carolinas Medical Center, as well as vice-president of the 1500 member medical staff. He is the assistant team physician for the NFL Carolina Panthers football team, and a consultant on foot and ankle injuries to Major League Baseball and a number of professional sports teams.

Hope Dr Anderson can provide him expert opinion and services to help the expedition of his recovery.

Dr Anderson doesn't seem to have miracle cure but does seem to have experience. He is a team doctor for the Carolina Panthers.

So he would be in a foot cast for 6 weeks and then a walking boot for 4-6 weeks and then if the CT Scan is negative and he feels no symptoms (pain) then he could theortically start working out in 12 weeks. If he has the surgery this weekend that could mean he is ready for the Finals.

Pryuen, I really feel for you. Yao is my hero, too. He will be back, stronger. He has not gotten a ring with Tracy yet. These are two best NBA players.

Deke almost never played until the last game. The improved mins probably adds to the wear and tear and definitely didn't help Yao's legs. :(

Let the world filled with love
    (让世界充满爱)

    Tenderly holding you face
    To wipe away you tears
My heart always belong to you
Tell me you’ll never be alone

    Looking deeply into you eyes
No need to say another word
    Holding tightly onto your hands
This warmth will never ever change

    Together we share joy
    We share same sorrow
And we have the same aspiration
    Together we strive
    Together we dream
We treasure the same love in our hearts

No matter if we know each other
No matter if you’re here or faraway
    Let us pray with sincerity
To wish you peace and happiness.

You're right. Unfortunately that seems to be the case. I was delighted to see Yao handling big minutes like we all wanted him too,I never expected that he would get a fracture because of the ease that he was playing with. It's tragic to see this happen again.

This thread has become somewhat of an annual tradition...Yao has missed 85 games over the last three seasons (this one included). I don't think it will get much better from this point on.

I miss him on the court...
