Ya but Mt. Rushmore is in measly South Dakota. If Texas had a Mt. Rushmore we'd have to make it way bigger then one that is in South Dakota and underneath all of them it should be engraved, "I'm from Texas Byatch!"
Copycat From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search For other uses of the word copycat, see Copycat (disambiguation) A copycat (also copy-cat or copy cat) is a person (or animal, or computer program) that mimics or repeats the behavior of another. The expression may derive from kittens that learned by imitating the behaviors of their mothers. It has been in use since at least 1896, in Sarah Orne Jewett's "The Country of the Pointed Firs". The term is often derogatory, suggesting a lack of originality. A copycat website is a website that was spoofed, with the intention of misleading readers with fraudulent objectives often associated with phishing or e-mail spoofing. Copycat crimes are the waves of similar crimes that are sometimes committed shortly after a particularly notorious or unusual crime is reported; they range from shoplifting of particular items to copycat suicides and murders. The "copycat effect" refers to the tendency of sensational publicity about a violent murder or suicide to cause more of the same. In Victoria, Australia, and elsewhere, the word is well-known from an anonymous schoolchildren's poem describing corporal punishment as a consequence of schoolroom plagiarism.[citation needed] "Copy cat from Ballarat, Went to school and got the strap, Came home with a broken back" [yes...this post was COPY and pasted from en.wikipedia.org . . .]
Yes. Thank you. I know what a copy-cat is. I don't understand who you're referring to as being a copy-cat..
Those are my picks as well. Buddy Holly is waaayyy underated today for his musical and Production contributions.
No Lightnin' Hopkins? You talk about the center of music in Texas, Freddie King, Johnny Mathis, and Michelle Shocked are all from Gladewater Pop. 6,000. ( a stone's throw from Gilmer, home to Don Henely.)
I was going to to make a list of Lightnin, Clarence Gatemouth Brown, Delbert McClinton and Freddie King just to answer the limited genre' lists. Van Cliburn is probably warranted even though no one on this board would listen to classical concert piano. I don't listen to Wille either myself.
Bob Wills (made texas music an artform equal to jazz [at the time]) Willie (crossed all bounderies) Buddy Holly (it can be argued no buddy no beatles) SRV (followed up on the promise of hendrix) Beyonce' 's a$$ Selena's a$$ (texas like-a de a$$!)
I thought about putting mine as: Gatemouth Brown George Jones Janis Joplin Edgar Winter ...but I wondered if that would show my narrow view of Texas.
