Very, very sorry to hear that, Jeff. I lost mine 24 years ago, and I still think of him all the time. With two children he never got to see, I've attempted to keep him "alive" for them, talking about him when the opportunity presents itself. It's really for me, but I'd like to think they'll at least know something of the man and the father that he was.

    Again, sorry for your loss.

    Hey Jeff,

I have been away from the board and had just found out from my mom. She is really upset. I also literally just asked the wife if I should post a nondescript "well wishes" thread on here to throw you some love and we agreed it wasn't my place. Well, here you did it, anyway.

Any happy, loving, positive thoughts I can send your way I will try and I will try to work out Tuesday as well.

I never met the man, but George Balke gave great wedding presents and leaves his friends to describe him as caring, hilarious, larger-than-life, joyous, positive, spiritual, and warm. The kind of man that would cook a huge breakfast to bring to his co-workers "just because".

My condolences. A family member of mine recently saw the doctor for the first time in a decade and intends to not take so lightly this blessing we have called life. Sorry for your loss. Everyone, please tell your loved ones you love them and encourage them to live in as good health as possible. Life is short.

Sorry to hear that, Jeff. I haven't talked to my Dad in a few weeks. Maybe I'll call him this weekend.

Really wonderful tribute, Jeff. You are also right, if the best things about you come from your dad then you were lucky beyond words to be his son. You (and from all accounts he) are something I don't even know how to be and I am admittedly jealous.
