Here are summaries of what the 2 of 3 rookies did for the Nets today. Jason Collins- 18 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 blocks Richard Jefferson- 16 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 blocks These 2 could've really helped us, we need a center and sf. Eddie is AWESOME and better in the long run, but look what we missed out on. Dayum, the 2 positions we have needs for and they're tearing it up. But I still love EDDIE, so I;m not complaining or anything.
They both had a good night last night. Jefferson and Collins haven't been like that the whole season -- plenty of 5 point games from the both of them . . .
Jefferson's played well all season-long. He's a very good defender and that's what he appears to be making his name on. His offensive game is starting to pick up. That was Collins' first game really seeing any extended minutes and it was partly because they were hurting with Van Horn and Martin out. So far, we've got the better end of this deal. Griffin is turning into a stud.
Richard has been contributing pretty steadily and is averaging very similar to EG and EG has not been playing as many minutes. As far as Collins is concerned...he will be a journeyman in the NBA. Kinda slow and kinda non-intense for the most part, but will contribute as an off the bench player....overall, you cannot get caught up in what others are doing just yet. They are a totally different team: starters, injuries, conference...look at the trade next year to really make a determination..
Griffin has a much higher 3P% than Jefferson. Griffin's taken many more attempts as well. Jefferson is a more explosive Shandon Anderson, maybe not quite as turnover prone, but he's not a good shooter. I only consider him a marginal upgrade over Torres. Collins is journeyman material. There will be plenty of oppurtunities to draft players just like him. They don't trust Armstrong enough to have him be 2nd string behind Jason Kidd, because they want a backup. Considering Kidd's iron man nature, that's a pretty low opinion of a guy.
