Oh, I forgot to add: Noodles & More on the West Side -- it's an AWESOME Thai restaurant. Where is Mai's located?
If We're Talking about Best Restaurants and not simply best value, you guys are crazy mentioning Mai's and Chessecake etc. Best Restaurants in Houston.... Warning* Value not a Criteria Tony's Cafe Annie Brownstone Morton's Americas Anthony's Post Oak Grill Capital Grill Pesca River Oaks Grill Sullivans Steakhouse Pappa Bros Steakhouse Ibiza Fogo de Chau 2nd Tier: Bossa Zula Bombay Palace PF Changs Rodizio Grill I can come up with more....but i'll get hungry again... Until then please don't associate Mai's , Timmys, or any other places with the title best restaurant in Houston... Those places are great!! The service is Amazing, the food is savory and the ambiance leaves little to be desired in Houston.
Hell, I don't even live in Houston anymore, but that won't stop me from contributing to this thread: La Griglia P.F. I have been out of Houston for a year, but me favorite is Pappas Steakhouse. I really miss Whatburger
I'm Texan to the bone, but I love the Fattburger restaurants on the West Coast. Houston needs some Fattburgers!!!
Vengeance hit it right on the nose. Taste of Texas...damn, they got the best food in the world. Mmmm...a huge slab of Angus beef, mashed potatoes and Mozzerela bread...ahhhhh. Delicious. That makes me think of Port Swauls in Venice. They have the absolute best meat imaginable. I don't know what it is...the herbs, seasoning, whatever...that was the best food I ever put in my mouth.
If you want some good greasy, Texas burgers, go to Bubba's burgers. I believe it is somewhere near the Dome...One of the sketchier-looking restaurants in town, but you'll often see Mercedes, Lexus, and BMW cars parked in the parking lot/dirt in front of the building.
Judging from the restaurants' appearance (or all the ones I've been to), I'd EXPECT them to be on the roach report every go-round.
