So I am watching the Nets telecast, and Mark Jackson says that while talking to Yao and Stevie before the game, Yao commented, "We weigh about the same now!" (Jackson has gained quite a bit of weight). At this point, according to Jackson, Stevie was OTFLHAO, and instead of coming back at Yao with something equally witty, Jackson looks at Stevie instead and says, "Well at least I didn't lose my game!" Ouch! Looks like Stevie will keeping taking hits for Yao...
Update... When Stevie just checked in now, he was apparently 'barking' at Mark Jackson on the way in. Oh, and Markie Mark even managed to sneak in a 'sexist' comment when T-Mac split the double-team for what should've been an "and 1": Mark: "TMac is saying Get in there Girl!" Other guy: "Is the ball a girl now?" Mark: "Well, you're married, you know how it goes!" He must be the gift that keeps on giving. This is enjoyable...
What was really funny was that the should a clip of the 3 of them talking during that exchange and Francis you see Francis and Yao laughing at Jackson, then when Jackson throws his comeback, it gets all quiet..... So then Mark Jackson's announcing part was laughing at Mark and his horrible attempt at a comeback!!!!
Probably because it wasn't funny. Mark is one of those guys that can dish it but can't take it. Anyone still remember his "You're better than that!" blasts when he was working for ESPN? I am still laughing at the "sweet and sour" comment on Yao
I don't think he meant anything by it. It's actually more common to use a female pronoun when talking about something like that.
Ure kidding right?. marc jackson is one of the leading alltime assists getter for a reason. in he's prime marc jackson was a beast. infact at age 50 when he was playing with us, he was still our best playmaker.
Actually, he's right. Marc Jackson isn't very good. (http://www.nba.com/historical/playerfile/index.html?player=marc_jackson) But Mark Jackson (http://www.nba.com/historical/playerfile/index.html?player=mark_jackson) was a stud.
They were on League Pass, assuming we aren't talking about someone else. (how many Jacksons are there?? I'm expecting Stonewall to pop up any time now!) The NJ coverage people were very complimentary of Tracy and the big fella. Very complimentary. Considering how badly the Nets played, I'm not surprised. There wasn't a lot for them to talk about. At one point, McGrady had 25 or 26 and Carter had 30. One of them mentioned that, and then the other guy says, "Oh course, Vince has taken 11 more shots!" Beautiful.
