    DEFENSE!!

Is it only me or people have similar thoughts? I am not worried about our offense too much. Even without a big day from Yao or Tmac, we still have a lot of weapons on the court. However, what worries me is our defense!!! It is our defense that cost our games in the past week!!

We should do something to stop this slip! Better begin from tonight vs Mavs!!

    Look at the opponent FG%:

    11/13 @ Memphis: 50%
    11/14 vs LAL: 44.4% (47.1% 3pt)
    11/16 @ SA: 48.6% (56.3% 3pt  )
    11/17 vs PHX: 62.3% (52.6% 3pt  )

    Where is our defense!!

Lots of quick (bad) shots leading to fast break points by our opponents. Rockets *really* need to play better on offense so that we can defend from a set position.

Defense is all we got against these athletic quick teams. Defense is the great equalizer. Our team is somewhat slow unless RA makes wholesale changes for speed and shooting. Still at the end of the day, playing great defense is the only way to keep our opponents close with our current lineup.

WTF is wrong with you people. When we had a defensive oriented team, people b****ed about offense. Now that there is more emphasis placed on offense, people are b****ing about the defense. Make up your mind

:D we need two coaches.JVG is in charge of telling players how to defend,AD is in charge of telling players how to offense.wow, then it's perfect.

    Where has the "D" gone?

I realized that RA is an offensive minded coach and that the defense was likely to soften a bit, but this has moved into some stunning territory.

During our six game losing streak, here are our defensive FG%s:

    Griz - 50%
    Lak - 44%
    Spurs - 49%
    Suns - 62%
    Mavs - 43%
    Heat - 55%

I don't know if it's the system, the lack of emphasis, the lack of effort or all of the above, but we have gone from a very good defensive team to a very bad one almost over night. Somehow those 76 to 72 slugfests are starting to look a whole lot better. Just pathetic.

I think what really helped our defense in the past was our slow, predictable offense. Even if we missed, we got back in a half court set.

Now, when we miss, we are in transition and that kills us.

I'm not to go back to our offense. But those quick long jumpers absolutely kill us.

Our offense still looks pretty slow and predictable, if you ask me.

This coach never has D, but he is a good offense coach. But his offense level cannot offset his suck defense.

    Rox, no where to go.

spoken like someone who has no clue.

adelman's teams consistently ranked near the top in scoring defense. he may not be a defensive guru like JVG, but he's no slouch.

The defense that got us to the playoffs, is gone.
Adelman, and I quote" we are going to give up some on the defensive end, but we will get more possessions and opportunities on the offensive end"

Translations- our defense will suck, but our increased scoring will make up for it.

    That works
