He was most recently waived by the Nets, so I guess he decided to call it a career. I will always have fond memories of the guy and the role he played in the most fun Rockets team in the post-championships era, with Jon Barry/Bobby Sura/Mike James/Scott "The Body" Padgett. Feel free to pay tribute with video mixes or the like...
he was good his first year with us then he drastically declined the next year, shooting like 18% from the field. yea, worse than rafer shooting. him, sura, james, and barry were awesome though.
Poor guy is gonna have to sit back, relax, enjoy golf, enjoy the beach, and cash checks for a while. I'm happy for him!
A few years too late IMO but good for him. He was asked to do too much while he was a Rocket but the guy went out and competed every night.
How could you hate Wesley? He was a true professional while he was here and did everything that was asked of him.
people keep saying gundy ball was just plain boring. i couldn't disagree more. this team played the most entertaining ball i've seen from any rockets team until now.
Calling Wesley a "Rocket Great" is pure hyperbole. I liked him ok; he was a team player, he hustled and was sometimes above average for the two years he was here.
I don't understand this kind of thing. I can understand when Rockets fans hate guys like Cato, Mo Taylor or Eddie Griffin, all of whom were gigantic under achievers, but I'll never understand hating guys like Wesley, Ryan Bowen or Juwan Howard. All of those guys did their job to the best of their abilities and represented us well off the court. What's to hate?
David Wesley brought a CBA championship to the Wichita Falls Texans when I was like 10. He was awesome.
oh, you could care less? like you actually do care some about david wesley to where you can care less about it?
