Watching this game killed me. There seemed to be so many times Yao got the ball and held it waiting for the double team to come so he could kick it out. There is no way Tmac should have had 19 more shots then Yao this game. Especially with how Dallas played the second half and stopped their double teaming. Originally I thought it might be having Yao in the high post, which I still dont like very much. Then I thought it might be Mcgrady turning into a bit of a Kobe like chucker. But by the end of the game, it hit me that it was really on Yao. Yao needs to realize he should shoot the ball 18-20 times a game. If there isnt an immediate double, then take the shot. Especially when he has any kind of position. His turn and shoot jumper or hook is not going to be blocked. Its only when he holds the ball that he runs into trouble. Honestly, it almost seems like he doesnt feel he should shoot that much, and I know thats been said here before. Maybe Adelman should bench him for a short period when he wont take shots. I dont know what else will work.
Fire JVG~~~~~He made Yao only can play low-post game. He spoiled Yao's passing ability. Its all his fault.
better give Yao a lot of energy drink and not Viagra! Plenty of time to make that babies off season. Just shoot a lot of hoops man!!
The answer is that Coach 'A' is having Yao Ming play as a ROLE PLAYER rather than a player who has MVP aspitations. Yao doesn't like the system and will flounder this season, still will score 20 pts 10 rbs but will regress and possibly loose interest in becoming the best player which he can become.
no one feeds him, how can he shoot the ball? the only thing he can do is watching tmac shooting the ball~
I wish this were utter BS.... but it looks very true right now. Yao needs to come out in the American media, flame Adelman to a crisp, and demand that he get the ball more.
Agreed. But, this is not entirely Yao's fault. A couple of times Yao was open under the basket (or near it), and Rafer decided to take it in himself - naturally he got blocked. If I were Yao, I'd have pulled Rafer aside, and tell him: If I am open and you don't pass the **it to me, I'll slap your little head silly.
What system does yao like then. It aint about Yao it's about the TEAM,how can the TEAM win a do better. It aint about Yao and winning the MVP is about the rockets finally advancing with Yao with tracy with the TEAM out of the first darn round.
why call out Alston only ? james does that a lot more often. In fact, everybody did that in this game except maybe Bonzi.
T-MAC 31 vs. Yao 12. WTF? How about this? T-MAC 12/31 vs. Yao 9/12. T-MAC of coz has improved his scoring skill, but on the other hand he looks like pretty the same as last season so far, shooting the balls, losing the chances, at least thats what he did in this game, abit selfish as I can see. Yao should shoot more to build up the confidence.
Even the commentators said the team didn't pass it to Yao enough. Yao was hitting high percentage. In fact, Diop couldn't stop him. But he passed it out coz that's what Adelman's system insist on. Plus, nobody passed the ball to Yao down the stretch when we needed him???? How can you shoot when nobody passed the ball to you????
Yao should have got more shots, and TMac less. Tracy has been awesome for us but this was a situation where we should have let Yao go to work more.
The criticism isn't valid you can't judge the entire season off of 4 games in a new system. It is still work in progress
Four games into the season, our first loss, and people are freaking out. I'm so glad you guys aren't the GM.
By the way, do you all know why we lost the game tonight? We lost the game tonight because Mike James didn't hit his open threes in the fourth quarter. I don't see how this game was that much different than the Utah and LA one, except Mike did what he was paid to do: hit his jumpers. So calm down.
