Maybe its because his team relies on his setup abilities?

Yes hes more of a distributer/playmaker its one of the main duties of a set-up man you know. He also looks to shoot less, pass more, runs the offense more, his teammates rely on his playmaking more than Brons do. Tmac makes a better pointman than any of his (scoring) peers

This post proves just how far youll go to convince yourself, youll rinse and repeat the same horse ****. Sad child

Actually I find this all really funny. Here we have one guy completely obsessed in proving to people that McGrady is not a point forward, willing to post topics on half a dozen message boards (maybe more) showcasing that fact. For some reason, this guy just can't get over his McGrady and point forward fixation. Hell, here's another topic he made on another message board just recently: http://www.basketballforum.com/nba-forum/371872-do-you-think-t-mac-point-forward.html

The best part is that he cherry picks his arguments quoting those that agree with him while ignoring and insulting those that don't. And all the while bringing up the same "facts" such as Rafer Alston and Luther Head  are the primary ball-handlers, that McGrady doesn't bring the ball upcourt, and pretty much the whole "I'm right, you're not, get over it" mentality.

I'm not going to post why T-Mac is a point forward because you're just going to ignore it anyways. But most knowledgable basketball fans believe he is and other people frankly don't care if he is or not. But if you truly believe he's not a point forward, then that's fine. But why are you on this "crusade" to prove that he's not? McGrady doesn't win any awards for best point forward and point forward is not even a position officially recognized. Hell, it would be better for the Rockets that he's not a point forward because that means less work for McGrady himself.

But by all means go on. Keep making the same arguments. It just means that more people will ignore you.

yo, look at it this way, if rafer and head is traded, your primary ball handler guys, what will happen with Tmac's role? Rox will play with a shoot first PG or a dribble first PG, meaning Tmac have to facilitate the offense... Does that makes him a point forward?

And looking at last season, you said that rafer as the "playmaker" as he is the one that bring up the ball, start the offense by setting up everyone in place(which he did quite successfully as he will past to Tmac who will be standing 30" from the rim).

Come on get real, Tmac and many others will not call him a point-forward as they look at his role in the team as the primary scorer, thats why adelman wants to take the ball out of Tmac, because he wants Tmac to be the scorer and not the role which he did last season, which is to penetrate and past to the open 3, pick and role with hayes and give the ball to Yao who is standing at the post.

Tmac himself said that he got to play the role of the passer game to help the team, all of this makes him a point forward last season.

Hopefully tmac will not be the main playmaker again in the coming season.

So i hope this ends things. Tmac is never a point forward, but he filled the need of playmaker in the Rox team and played as a point forward last season.

I think that tracyyao01 must be some sociology or psychology student who is writing a thesis about message board communication and who is conducting an experiment on how people can get worked up over a completely pointless and irrelevant question.

unfortunately for us, tmacyao01 seems to have no lack of perseverance when it comes to convincing himself/herself that he/she has 'owned' someone. based on the results of most of the 'point-forward' polls he/she has put up, most people believe that Mac is a point-forward. too bad, so sad, bye bye.
