one of two things either your ball is not drilled right for your hand, or you dont come out of it right. there are alot of guys that claim to know how to drill your ball, but only a small percentage actually care about fitting it exactly to your hand I recommend Randy in AlphaBowl in CL helluva nice guy, and will work with you until it fits perfect.
89 ... LOL! I am lucky if I keep my ball between my gutters! It's a bonus if I don't fall down in the process. I am better at sissy rolling it.
r2k when I move down to Houston in a couple months I hope to be worthy enough to bowl with you. I bowled several 200+ games using the cheap 2 finger way, but I had to stop because it was giving me wrist problems. I can hook the ball fine now in proper form, but the house balls usually come nowhere near fitting me, and my thumb always hurts after about 30 frames.
looking forward to some #hr rock-n-bowl the reason for the finger pain is simple...the house balls blow monkeys. even for people that dont want to bowl league but like to go bowl often, it is totally worth getting your own custom fit one so you dont tear up your fingers.
I have striked the front 9 and opened in the 10th for a 269 (+ or - a pin I can't remember) and my high series is a 697. Both scores are league sanctioned.
my high is 205 a couple years back but id say my avg is about 140-160 range...the last 2 weekends i went, im not sure how many times i was left with 1 pin. knock a couple of those down and the score is a lot different.
and i dont use a hook. i cant seem to get the hang of it... im pretty sure if i could, i could be a lot better.
Funny, I was just talking about this earlier today with some of my friends. My highest bowling score was about 150. I usually score in the 80-90s but I was on a roll that day.
211 but that was spinning it. However, in my defense I use the house ball and it is never drilled right for me, so its the only way I can get the spin on it. I just wish I was still in San Diego, they had dollar games during the summer. Lots o fun.
I had a problem where all the house balls that had holes big enough for my fingers were too heavy. I use a "suitcase" style and after a while, my ring finger really hurt. I thought I had a fracture or something. Luckily, the alley had an 11 lb. ball in the back that they were trying to sell that they would let me use. That 3 or 4 lbs. made a world of difference.
I can't do real bowling anymore cause my back is beyond jacked up, and I don't think I ever got above 170. But I'm a recent addict to Silver Strike Bowling. My high score is 197 (which I got today). My girl rolled a 259 the other night and totally made me her beeyatch.
