I've been reading clutchfans for a couple years now but have never posted. Needless to say i am VERY excited about the upcoming season. I never expected Stevie to come back to us. I thought we a had a pretty good team last year but this season... its going to be unbelievable.

Hypothetically speaking, the starting 5 from last year and most of our bench is intact so far and that team was good enough to win 50+ games...( i know there might be more trades coming and Hayes hasn't been resigned yet.) BUT just on how it is RIGHT NOW...

I'm not saying we will or should but if we started the 5 from last year...
    Backups
    Yao Mutombo* then Butler
    Hayes Scola then Landry/Novak
    Battier Bonzi then Snyder
    T-Mac Francis then Head
    Alston James then Brooks

Last year's primary back ups were:
    Mutombo
    Howard
    Snyder
    Head
    JLIII/V-span
    ...wow...

I might be stating the obvious but we essentially hugely upgraded our backups at every position (last year's backups have been moved to 3rd string). We might possibly make the playoff in the east with just our bench. I don't know how the **** it happened without losing anyone except basically Howard but I'm not complaining right now.

i think Brooks is the total package at PG. he can score, distribute, and penetrate. there is noone that can stay in front of him. i think he'll be like TJ Ford except with a jumpshot and better scoring. Brooks will get some good minutes Adelman likes him.

    This is great.

I'm sure Steve is reading this thread and telling himself he made the right decision. Houston loves him.

Watch out NBA.. We have a new contender here..

why does everyone think this is such a great thing? what has he accomplished in the nba and what has he helped his teams accomplish? he was only an all star here because of the fans vote, not because he was one of the best players...no way francis is as good as mike james right now...or alston or brooks for that matter

Nice to have him back , he should provide scoring when T-mac is out .
So far it really looks like the best offseason we had , in the past decade .
