He didn't give up much money coming here over other places. Plus the tradeoff is he comes to a place where he'll get unadulterated love, as evidenced by most of the responses here and no other place but houston could offer that. This guy still has a huge ego and thought he should have been getting significant minutes in new york last year and pouted. Also, remember the time he refused to re-enter a game for the magic because of a dispute with the coach. If francis can check his ego at the door and accepts that he's like a 5th or 6th option on this team and doesn't ruin chemistry, then I'll change my mind maybe. The francis of yesteryear is not the same francis of today and I think a lot of people are remember the past more than the present when talking about francis.
Seriously, the 610 guys were bashing callers and riding high on their horse even though people were making SENSE and they kept countering with things like " I'd rather give the available minutes to Aaron Brooks than Steve! " ~ Adam ( not Wexler, the other one ).
I was just thinking that! I already cant stand Rich for his "Everything revolves around VY" approach. But he is seriously backtracking on everything he has said all week.
I eaves dropped on Francis and Tmac's conversation. Sitting next to each other at Fonde last night......... Francis: Yo Tmac, wassup? Tmac: Hey Steve, you gonna come play with us? Francis: Sounds cool, but how do you feel if I get a few of your shots? The tone changes, time slows down, Tmac leans in close to Steve and almost in a whisper says. Tmac: " Steve, I have had my day as scoring leader, you taking shots makes it easier for me" Francis " Cool, I am come" They both sit quietly for a second before their shoulders come in, and they start to laugh uncontrollably... Tmac "Shots? SHOTS? Who cares, we gonna win" Francis " Win baby, and win big" They continue laughing and it spreads through the crowd....... ROCKET FANS REJOICE !!!! We are going to win. DD
Wow I am just ecstatic for this deal. We got a near start player for NOTHING. Morey for president. Or King or something. I think Boston messed up making Danny Ainge their GM while they had this guy sitting in the wings. WOW!!!!
Now what we need to bring a total Rockets reunion: Mario Elie and Dream as assistance coaches. Kenny Smith takes less money to work the local station. Jeff Van Gundy comes back as a consultant. Kelvin Cato signs for the veteran's minimum as the starting PF. Cat comes back through a trade of Lucas III, Sura, and Novak. Sam Cassell gets traded for Snyder and some other combo. Lisa Malosky comes back as the sideline reporter.

A slower, more mature Francis, with a much better team around him, not playing Rudy iso-ball is going to be different. How many Rafer's shooting sucks threads were there last season? We get a huge upgrade offensively at the point and people are still dissatisfied.
