[Music]The White Stripes - Icky Thump

I don't know. I love the white stripes, but there are so many great bands today. Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, for example, are on that level. Beck is still awesome. Weezer. Alison Kraus and Union Station. Super Chikan and the Fighting Cocks play some great blues music.

 

I needed an excuse to post this video.

I just d-loaded this cd...like the new single thought i'd give it a shot. this album rules. i dont have their other stuff just didnt like what they were putting out...but this album is sweet. might have to check out their other albums

like i said, best band of this generation.

 

imo Sigur Ros or Tool is...though Tool was around in the mid 90's so dont know if you count that or not. But no question Jack White is one hell of a guitar player, one of a kind.

 

how could you leave out 'get behind me satan'?

that is by far their best album, imo.

 

Their best album so far IMO is De Stijl. Although, I haven't listened to Icky Thump or Get Behind Be Satan yet.

I love that song; one of my favorite songs in years. That was an awesome live version of that. The only thing I don't like about the song is that it's so short. A song that good should go on for 5. I really hope Raconteurs can produce more music somewhere remotely near the rate the White Stripes do. I need more Raconteurs.


Icky Thump is great. 100x better than Get Behind Me Satan. It's harder like some of their earlier stuff. How great is "Little Cream Soda". That song is HARD.

 

I'd like to give Meg the Icky Thump.

honestly i'd love to hate jack white. however, there is no denying that the dude is a major ****ing rock god.

 

Can I get a witness for "I'm Slowly Turning Into You?" That song is awesome! I find it amazing that they work with all of these self-imposed limits, yet they keep evolving their sound on every album.

 

i would like to icky all over her thumps!

 

im not a huge white stripes fan (gbms is the only album of theirs i own or even know well), but i have alot of respect for him. guy is extremely prolific - in like 3 years he has done 2 white stripes records, racontuers and loretta lynn - and its all quality stuff!

 

I know one thing, their concerts ROCK!! Here's proof:
