Even at this stage he is much much better than any of our PG? Shall we spend our MLE on him and trade Alston/Head for PF?

He will easily get MLE from severa; teams including Heat, Clippers and Lakers. You have to pay what his market value is.

Now that I think about it, talent-wise, Isiah made out really really well. Basically Randolph for Frye? That's robbery. Salary, knucklehead-wise, can't really say the same.

I think Adelman would have him in a huge role here.....
Clips could be a good landing spot though, they need a point guard....

If the article is correct and they're buying him out for over 30 mill (his total contract is around 33.6M). Then I'd guess he'd be very willing to take the vet's min. That'd be what it takes to make up the difference.

Knicks off the record buyout talk had them offering him an amount where a MLE deal was needed to make up for the lost dollars.

If Francis can accept taking the vet's min. Rockets end up with a valuable trade asset in Alston. PG isn't really that deep just a lot of scrubs at the end of the bench.

If he can accept a reduced role and not hog the ball... I'd like him back. I'm not certain he'd do this though. If he doesn't, he hinders Yao and McGrady and causes chemistry problems.

Wow, with Cassel, Mobley and Francis all on one team, it looks like the Nike Summer league team I saw play 2 years ago at the Fonde. They lost.
