That Overlord game seems similar to Dungeon Keeper, in tone if not in gameplay.

POTBS is not listed as a June release at Gamespot, which is how I get the list of titles for every month (check new releases for each platform). Is it scheduled for a June release, or were you just mentioning it?

I don't usually have too many PC games on my list, due to:
    1) I don't follow PC games as well as I do console and handheld games, so I'm not familiar with some games that might actually be highly anticipated (especially MMOs and RTS games). For example, I probably would not have listed POTBS had it been a June release at Gamespot.
    2) Some of the major PC releases are also on the consoles (Overlord, DiRT, and Tomb Raider in this case), but they won't be listed under PC of course.
    3) Some games are ports or expansions that I may decide not to post about. For example, Lost Planet is coming to the PC this month I believe, but I decided not to post about it.
    4) Sometimes, there just aren't many PC games coming out. :(

If you guys know of any PC games that look interesting that I do not mention (either in this thread or future threads), I encourage you guys to let me know about them so that I can add them to the list (although you should do it pretty soon so that I can still edit the first post).

And yeah, I thought Overlord was a bit like Dungeon Keeper when I checked out a preview for it a few weeks ago. I don't know how good the gameplay will be, but I love the tone they're setting for the game.

I believe Call of Juarez and Hour of Victory are both on the June calendar for 360, not sure why RC missed them, maybe because they both might suck.

    You got it.

If I don't feel too strongly about a particular game, I usually don't add it to the list. If they get good reviews, I'll add them then, but I don't usually have to do that too often. I should probably leave off more games actually, which is partly why I didn't bother to give proper previews to the movie-licensed games this month.

I think Call of Juarez might be ok, different at least. I mean the only other game in the sub-genre I can think of is "Red Dead Revolver" and Law of the West, which was probably written before you were born, but was awesome to play way back when.

How about that. A game I might actually get for my $600 paperweight. I never got NG: Black so Sigma might be different enough to be worth a buy.

I was actually really close to adding Call of Juarez, but decided against it since I was feeling kind of lazy at the time. Plus, some ads I saw for the game a few weeks ago seemed really stupid (IMO anyway), so I've started to react negatively to the game. It seems as though the developer for the game has made some pretty mediocre FPS titles in the last few years, so I'll still remain a little skeptical, but you're right about it being different.

And yes, that game did come out before I was born.

Off topic, but the VG industry was a lot smaller and not that far removed from being garage based back then, so it wasn't uncommon on seeing the programmers names on the intro screens and the same names popping up over and over agin. In the C64 post atari, pre nintendo era - Ed Bogas (sound) and Bob Whitehead, who both worked for Accolade (major developer/publisher) bascially RULED. They made the best sports games of the day (4th and Inches and Hardball series - both classics) as well as Law of the West.

It seems to add a decent amount, particularly with the new levels where Rachel is playable. I don't know if it would be worth $60 if you already played NGB though, especially if you were playing that game on the 360 (upscaled)...maybe if you were just a really big NG fan, but that's probably about it. But since you didn't play NGB, it might be a little better. I can't remember what exactly what was added to NGB though.

Of course, as you said, it isn't like there is anything else to play on the PS3 at this point anyway, especially if you're not a baseball fan. Maybe the new content for Resistance and MotorStorm will help a little bit, but there isn't much else (I know, this is to be expected, but still). I remember when Lair, Heavenly Sword, and DMC4 were all scheduled to be released by this time (as well as many other titles).

For those that don't know, NGS was pushed back a week and is now a July title (July 3rd IIRC). There are already some reviews for it, but I'll post any NGS reviews in the July thread rather than this one.

btw, for those who don't know yet, RE4 is kickass. It was kickass before, on PS2, but on the Wii, with the Wiimote, its basically the best thing ever. I have never had so much fun being beaten down by hordes of spanish speaking zombies.

A friend of mine litterally has given up his entire life to play one of those massive online games, final fantasy or whatever....it's scary how addicted he is to this thing, I've seen him turn down decent sure thing p***y to go home and play this game....and I watch him play, it's the most boring thing I've ever seen, I went over to hang out and the entire time I was there maybe an hour his character was just running thru a desert, for a fu<!><!>cking hour.
What is the appeal of these games?
I can understand playing Grand theft auto for an hour here and there blowing shi<!><!>t up but to run thru a fu<!><!>cking desert for an hour straight, just running not fighting anything not driving a car not flying, just running? Why is that addictive?
