I just got back from seeing it. All I go to say is John McClane puts the "adass" in "badass". There were so many funny lines in this movie. It had me laughing out loud all the way through. Plus the destruction the the movie was awesome as well. It was a little long, about 2.5 hours. Maybe on a normal night it would have been cool but since it let out at 2:30 and I a have work in 6 hours it is not so great today. Anyhow, go see it before people spoil all the good scenes. One thing I will tell you the yippie kaya scene will have you going "oh dammmmmmmnnnnnnnnnnn"
It's getting positive feedback on Rotten Tomatoes, but I don't know if I can fork over 9 bucks to Fox to see a PG-13 rated Die Hard.
I can't wait to see this one myself...I didn't know it was PG-13 though. Does he at least say YippeekayayMotherfocker?
how does it compare to the other 3? the first one is absolutely untouchable, but i've enjoyed the others.
Never been a big Bruce Willis fan. One of my friends looks a bit like him, and tries to use that to his advantage in female pickup situations. The only movie I even remotely liked Willis in was Pulp Fiction.
Was never a big fan of his big budget movies like Die Hard and (cough) Armegeddon . Heck, other than the ass shots of all the girls in Sin City, he was the only part that was watchable. I think he's a great actor with a broader range than he gets credit for; the guy has excellent comic timing and is capable of playing serious roles. I'd rank him up with Bill Murray in that respect. But, I have to admit, I think his greatest work of all time is the "Taming of the Shrew" Moonlighting episode. Maybe that dates me, but I won't be running out to see him repeat one-liners for the benefit of fan-service.
Why does this one take place in New Hampshire? The problem I have, based on the previews, is that McClane is doing more crazy stuff even though he is 20 years older. I just take issue with that. I understand Hollywood now works with the "bigger, faster, more CGI, more EXTREME!!!!" motto for action flicks but I have trouble with a 60 year old dodging cars and jumping from building to building, etc.. I also didn't realize it was PG-13...that is just a money move by the studio.
Nope. I like a couple of Schvoogienader's movies, and he's a Republican. I just never got into Bruce Wilis....from that TV show he did with Cybil Shepherd thru today. Plus, he's a shiiiiiiiiiitttttttty harmonica player!
Oh, you know what I mean. People were complaining about it so I was just saying the obvious - they did it so more people will see it.
Ironically it's gonna keep me from seeing it. And I know I'm not the only Die Hard fan turned off by the idea of pandering to teenage moviegoers. Fox better at least release an R-rated cut on DVD/Blu-ray. I was pissed that Paramount never did that for Mission: Impossible II after forcing John Woo to edit it down to a PG-13.
