Salaries are comparable. At the end of the day, Kobe plays full season and knows how to win games. You will never see Kobe give up the ball with the game on the line. Kobe told Buss today in Spain that he still wants to be traded. Make that deal and you could possibly build a dynasty with Kobe & Yao.
because this is a one for one deal for super stars. Not random crap of getting guys like Haslem or Deng. I dont even think the Lakers do a one for one deal because Kobe is better than T-Mac.
If the Lakers trade Kobe they will want draft picks/players with high potential. Not a player who will retire in 2 -3 yrs.
You must have been away for a while. This is the 3824095709327504357902758934579853284753296573247th thread talking about trading T-Mac for Kobe.
Wow. You're amazing! Kobe demands to be traded so you, presumably all by yourself, came to the conclusion that we should offer them T-Mac in exchange for Kobe. Brilliant. I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I'm ready to start the petition for Les to fire Morey and hire Rock101 as the new Rockets GM. Clearly he thinks outside the box.
keep dreaming. i think in that article you read it says that he wants to either go to the knicks or to the bulls. there was a third team but i didn't catch which team it was.
Yes I read that as well today in LA papers. Kobe said he would only play for other three teams. The paper only mentioned NY Knicks and Chicago Bulls. So what's the 3rd one? Remember, NYC, LA, Chicago are the biggest 3 cities in the States. So I am guessing Houston might be the 3rd one Kobe would like to play for? Anyway Houston is 4th largest city. Kobe has a no-trade term in his contract that allow him to deny a trade he doesn't like.
Why would LA trade Kobe for TMac? Kobe > TMac. Ok here's a question for you guys: What if LA came back and said YES, they would trade Kobe, for one condition. Kobe + Odom/Kwame for... TMac + Yao Ming. Do you make that trade?
Yao'll never win as the main guy. he's only good enough to be a sidekick and it doesn't get better than than playing the sidekick to the best player in the league.
My gut feeling: it is going to happen. I like T-mac, but T-mac + Yao means no championship. NBA is bussiness. Forget about feeling. Getting Mike James back and giving up JHo implies something more than you can perceive.
Philly are the other big market team. Suns & Dallas are other teams with the assets that the Lakers would like and teammates Kobe would like. Though if he gets traded I see him getting shipped to the East.
