We have no excuse for not getting homecourt now. Yao is healthy, and more importantly, we control our own destiny. Lets get it done, Rox.
I was told that the last time Rockets got homecourt advantage was 1997. It's 10 years and it's time now.
and who did we play the first round of the playoffs??? the jazzz??? NOw that u mention that ... that sorta scares me...
Actually, that was 1998. And the Rockets were on the road. 1997 was Minnesota in Round 1, Seattle in Round 2, and the Jazz in the WCF.
The Jazz's has a "3 games in 4 nights, with the 3rd game being at the end of a back to back" set in the first and second week of April. Even though Seattle isn't a great team, Jazz could still lose it due to sheer fatigue. I am sure they will drop the Phoenix game, Even though it's on their home court, They will have to travel from Dallas back to Utah. That will make them less rested. 1st set 04/04 @Por 04/06 @Sac 04/07 vs Sea 2nd set 04/11 vs Den 04/13 @ Dal 04/14 vs Phx Let's also not forget that they have one more eastern conference team to play. The Washington Wizards play them on March 26th. Those Eastern teams are tough for the Jazz.
As I said in an earlier thread..... We have more than a chance, we now control our own destiny...beat them twice and finish with at least an equal record and the Rocks get home court. DD
its not 1.5, its 2 we didnt play today... we started the day at 2.5 back... the Jazz lost.. we're two back... but even 1.5 back is the same as two back, its the loss column that counts
Maybe they can take out the Suns for us in the playoffs!!!!!!... you know how happy every Houston Fan would be!
We need to make up for more than the two games. We can not expect to beat the Jazz in the last game of the season in Utah. By that game the Rockets need to have secured home court or prepare for an "8 game" playoff series.
Utah is probably losing on purpose, they lost 3 in a row and going for 8 or 10 in a row hoping for Lakers or Denver to win most of their games just so they don't have to face us in playoffs, they rather face suns!!
It'll be two bad losses for Phx in a row. We need to watch how Detroit and Denver play Phx and maybe we could learn how to beat the Suns should we meet them in the playoffs.
