That's what these guys seem to think. http://tsn.sportingnews.com/nba/support/midwest.html It's near the bottom.
The only clutch player on that team is John Stockton. Karl Malone is so overrated when it comes to big games. How many times did he disappear in the Finals, and in Game 6 vs the Portland Trailblazers, and against the Mavs, etc., etc. Funny how David Robinson is considered the worst clutch player and has a ring, and Karl Malone is considered the best clutch player and hasn't hit a big shot his entire career in a big game.
Taken from article - "Best leaper: Michael Finley, Mavericks The high-riser dunks so quickly that if you blink, you’re likely to miss everything except the landing. " I believe Steve Francis has a much better vertical than Finley, something like 45 inches leap. Also, I'm suprised they place Michael Dickerson instead of Mobley in All-Midwest second team. What has MD done for the Grizzlies anyways? And his 16.3 ppg average don't impress me much, considering Mobley averaged 19.5 on a better team.
Tim Duncan, Steve Francis, Cuttino Mobley, Michael Finley, Dirk Nowitzki, John Stockton, Nick Van Exel, Michael Dickerson, Kevin Garnett...I'd rather have any of these guys from the midwest have the ball in the clutch rather than Malone.
Bradley most underrated? Yes, he is a great defender when he's blocking the shots of guards and forwards. But he's probably the worst man-to-man defender in the NBA. It is too easy to get low post position on him, and then seal him off for an easy dunk or layup. Plus, he'll foul you most likely, so you get a shot at a 3-pt play.
Clutch to me is stepping up when your team needs you. Malone is not clutch because he hasn't stepped up. How many times has he made it to the playoffs and tire out. He can't lead his team because the next thing he might say will offend someone on his team. How many rings does he have afer all those tries. Moochie is Clutch however.
