Please do not lose perspective. There are wonderful people of all nationalities, ethnicities, and religions. There are a few bad ones in all nationalities, ethnicities, and religions. It may be cliche, but we are all humans and share this little ball hurtling through space. Hate helps nothing.
Cohen -- I would second that motion but also suggest that the hatred swelling within the hearts of so many Americans tonight lives and dies with the perpetrators of this horrendous tragedy.
I would really hate to see a repeat of WWII when the Japenese-Americans were forced into interment camps. Hate is what caused this tragedy. There is too much in the world already.
definitely. we can't go around being bigots to every middle eastern person we see, that bs! I hope people arent' that stupid.
Those people need to understand that they do not stand alone; that is not what this wonderful country is about.
There have been reports of threats in Dallas, as well. Complicating matters is that one group reportedly has ties to a company (Infocom) that was raided by the FBI recently because of suspected terrorist ties (reportedly). There have also recently been raids of and arrests, etc. of Bin Ladin-connected people in Tarrant County. Given those ties (and suspected ties), it's easy to see how people could potentially over-react, unfortunately.
Martin Luther King said that we have two choices: "to peacefully coexist or destroy ourselves." Marvin Gaye said, "War is not the answer for only love will conquer hate." Jesus said, "Love your enemies," and "Turn the other cheek." I'm having a hard time feeling any of those thoughts right now, but a part of me realizes that, ultimately, it is our only way out of how we feel right now.
The problem is, if the U.S. turns around and walks away from this, and not do anything, more people are going to die. They're going to keep murdering people until the U.S. stops. The U.S. turned the other cheek, and thousands of people were callously murdered.
Fun Fact: Less than 5% of muslims in the world are Arab Muslims Muslims are Everywhere from Eastern Europe to the Middle East to Africa to Central Asia to Indonesia. An Arab-US-Israeli Conflict does not necessarily mean a Muslim-US conflict. Then Catholics in Mexico and South America Would Hate England for its actions against the IRA....
These idiots in the U.S. threatening religious groups are ridiculous. I'm glad some of them are getting arrested because this doesn't have anything to do with Arab Muslims, this is the U.S. vs Laden straight up, and unless he has a spaceship to fly off of this planet his days are numbered.
There is a time for everything a time to love a time to hate a time to wound a time to heal hate is not a negative emotion . . . . we cannot however .. . hate blindly. Hate is a emotion that should be harnessed correctly. . .the problem is that it has been handled improperly for most of our history Hate the Terrorist Hate those responsible do not hate for who you THINK maybe responsible or who looks like those responsible. Carrollton mosque's window shattered 09/12/2001 The Dallas Morning News The front window of the Madinah Masjid in Carrolton was shattered late Tuesday or early Wednesday, Imam Al Quadri Baber said. His congregation ended final prayers around 9:30 p.m., and their landlord was called around 10 a.m. and told that the front window had been shattered. After police checked the building, members of the mosque discovered that the window had been shot out by a metal pellet, Imam Baber said. Members of his mosque are nervous about other retaliations, he said. "We pray to God that nothing else will happen," he said.
Sheriff moves Arab inmates for their safety Eleven inmates of Arab decent were segregated from the general inmate population of the Tarrant County Jail on Tuesday, Sheriff Dee Anderson said. The move was mainly a safety precaution, he said. "We certainly didn't want anyone retaliating against them," he said. "Emotions are pretty raw right now." Anderson said he has not determined how long the inmates will remain separated. The department had no official policy on such matters, Anderson said. Most Tarrant County inmates learned of the terrorist attacks from television reports. The jail also canceled all inmate visitations and limited the number of nonstaff members allowed in the building for 24 hours, Anderson said.
