why are we restricting Novak to just shooting 3s?

If I am not mistaken he is just as a good mid range shooter as anyone

if we pass the ball to him at the arc he can fake...take a step and shoot

I think he can mix it up a bit...3s with long twos

He did a fake before shot even when he was wide open.

Not to be too much of a jerk, but why shoot long 2s when you can take a step or two back and get 3?

Does anyone honestly believe that Novak can take ANY 1st or 2nd tier NBA players off the dribble?

Well, he hasn't get many minutes to get used to playing in NBA. I bet his heart is still pumping and his hands are still shaking every time he is put in games.

It takes time. The question is when and where he is gonna get minutes.

Honestly he looked more comfortable tonight than any other game.

Less of a deer in the headlights look.

He took 4 shots....2 3pters (missed) and stepped inside the line and hit his 2 shots there.

I think Novak is good in situations, but he played very well tonight along with the rest of the hustlers !

Yes he can shot fake. He is allowed to do that. But other than that, he is limited. He needs to play within his game.

Nope. Not now. His best chance is to run around picks a la Reggie Miller and catch and shoot immediately. He still has the tendancy to pump fake when he's wide open.

I didnt mean it like that

I have watched enough games to know that Novak cant take me off the dribble let alone first second tier NBA players

I was more referring to spot up shooter(both inside and outside the arc)+running around screens and shooting - ie get him more involved in the offence more as oppose to just sitting him in the corner and whatever and hoping that our opponenets defence slack off him which creates an open shot

I haven't see Novak a lot but what I'm wondering is how good of a passer he is. The role I see Novak for this team is as a zone buster. In a zone set a tall perimeter player could be very affective passing over smaller defenders and then taking the kickout when the D collapses on the middle for long range shots. I recall Matt Bullard used to play this way with Hakeem so Novak could do that with Yao.

The only thing that Novak is restricted from is PLAYING TIME. By the looks of things (last night) Novak has lost his great 3 point shooting ability- Well done JVG!!!!!!!!!!!You have crushed Rookie talent!!!!!!!

He is not a bad rebounder either. If he can work on he's handels, i could see him playing really small minutes at the Small Forward spot.

Novak has lost his shooting stroke? Forgive me if I never take anything you say seriously again. This is downright asinine.
