The thought of that little hairy midget put a beat down on Deke is comical!

Do you know how many big and strong players have been laid out by Deke's elbows throughout the years?

That's a total misreading of the situation. They were clapping because he was getting kicked out. You didn't hear all the boos?

The boos were for mutombo and the cheers were for the jackazz.

    http://www.floridatoday.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20061027/SPORTS/610270352/1002/SPORTS

As for Mutombo, he is sure to receive a fine and/or a suspension if the videotape of his actions make it back to the NBA offices in New York. The 40-year-old center alleged that the fan insulted him with a racial epithet. The fan, by the way, was escorted out of TD Waterhouse Centre to a rousing ovation from the crowd of 13,724.

Talk about monkeys. Fans are like monkeys. Monkey see, monkey do.

I originally posted the below in the game thread, so sorry for posting this twice. I thought it could have gone in both this thread and the game thread.

Have any of you guys seen what some of these morons in Orlando wrote?? You guys are going to love some of the stuff that they are writing about T-MAC and MM. There are only a few, but they are ridiculous.

    http://forums.orlandosentinel.com/n...ticles&tid=3551

    Here are my two favorites:
    About T-MAC:

"Remember a couple years ago when T-mac said he wanted to be traded and that no one one in the draft was good enough of a player to make him want to say? Then Dwight Howard, a top prospect in that draft, said publicly that he wanted T-mac to stay so they could play together. In the long run the Magic got the best of that situation. Dwight will continue to get better and the Magic will continue schooling the Rockets for years to come." -- Dow11

This makes me want to go to Orlando during a Rockets game wearing all my Rockets' Red. Idiots. They really one that deal. Steve, Cat, and Cato are all gone....how is that the best situation? It didn't matter if T-MAC stayed or left, they still would have gotten Howard. Man they love to hate T-MAC.

    About MM:
"I can't believe this Motumbo moron wants this fan banned from NBA games. I thought we had freedom of speech in this country. What a joke. If you can't take fan criticism, leave professional sports. Just another reason why Orlando should get rid of the Magic altogether. I mean who goes to NBA games anyway? There is nothing entertaining about basketball. A bunch of thugs running around trying to put a ball in a hoop. Even a monkey could do that...." -- DizOne

Who the heck is this person and why is he still alive. If this guy made comments like this to some of my friends, it would not be good. Another internet hard *ss, what a joke!

Sorry about the long post, just really ticked me off.

Sorry I am about to say this, but I agree with this poster. I mean a fan calling someone a monkey is definitely racist. I agree with that. But Mutombo should know better than this. I mean if he really cares so much how come he isn't issuing any punches to anyone on the court. How many times do NBA players say the N-word to one another in a given game? I can hear the damn word on TV and in my opionion that should be more insulting to Mutombo than "monkey", no?

Now if it was a Rockets fan at a Rockets game then maybe I could understand why he would get upset.

I don't know if that is insulting to him or not. I don't know if that is insulting to the entire black community either because I am not black. But just from the pop-culture, it doesn't seem to offend the black community unless it comes from someone who is not black. I can understand that and respect that. The fact that this guy called Mutombo a "Monkey" knowing that he would not like that is ridiculous. It is obviously a racist remark. While I do believe in freedom of speech, i also believe in those who abuse that to have the freedom to get their *ss kicked. I'm all for fans having a good time until they get personal about someones ethnicity or family. Fans always know that they are protected (minus what happend in Detroit) so they run their mouths all the time. I think that fans should be held responsible for their actions. I don't know what should happen to this guy, but I think something should happen. I'll tell you right now though, if that guy saw Mutombo walking down the street he wouldn't have made that "monkey" remark. He might of caught a few elbows for that one. :)

You dont know what your talking about. What players say to each other is there business, not yours. No one should call a Black person should be called a "monkey" in 2006. I applaud Deke for not bodyslamming the idiot....however I wish i was there to do it.

What you need to understand is that black people don't call other black people the "n" word. We don't say N-gger; we say N-gga and its slang for general purposes. The word N-gga is used frequently not only by black people, but Hispanics and younger Asian. It's really not a racially motivated word....it's a hip hop thing. It's a fine line too.

What that fan did was out of line and sad. If you've never been disrespected like that...it's hard to explain. It's a degrading experience I wouldn't wish on anyone. That fan needs help....Deke's elbow could have helped

I can't believe the "monkey" epithet is even debatable. Plain ol' racism. Simple as that. Naivete? Doubtful.

Mutombo is entitled to his controlled aggression to any hateful "fan."

I officially hate the Orlando Magic. The fact that other fans apparently cheered on the antics of the Orlando village idiot speaks volumes about all of them. Deke shoulda b*tch slapped that loser all the way back to his trailer park.

That guy could be cage fighter, who knows. I never said he was going to lay Deke out, it's just find it funny how people assume they are going to get physical with someone and always think they will win like the bad guy never does win.

As far as the article that was posted....

They sure went overboard about DHoward. It was a preseason game.
