I went to the open practice two years ago and it was nice. We got a free schedule and Rockets sticker and basically Clutch did his best to keep us entertained for more than an hour. Lots of little contests/give-aways, mostly for the kids, of course. Then the team came out and scrimmaged for about half an hour. I think JVG or somebody might have said a few words thanking the crowd and pimping ticket plans. If I attend this year, I'll probably go a bit late since we had to wait around for quite a while before the players appeared. Maybe at 1 p.m. or so. Oh, and last time I went, the crowd was sparse (for our first look at T-Mac!!) as this thing ain't well publicized. I sat in the fourth row. Never been that close to the floor since!
dang it! if only i lived in houston! whoever can go should definitely make thier way down there. i'm stuck going to the knicks open practice... it might as well be an open tryout.
Hell yeah. That was lame. Strung us along for an hour or hour and a half and then the scrimmage was what...30 minutes long?
Needed TWO 'older' ROCKETS fans living in the San Antonio area that might like to share expences on a day trip to Houston, in my truck to see the scrimmage?
yea i lucked out and got a red (i think?) ticket to get Yao's autograph too. i had him sign a jersey for my mom. that dude has HUGE hands.
Wow i am really debating skippin my two classes on monday for this, would someone that has gone before recommend making the drive from austin for this open practice?
No way! It's fun, but it ain't worth driving from Austin for. It's basically a sales pitch for ticket plans. The scrimmage is maaaaaybe half an hour.
So jealous of you guys who can have easy & cheap access to take part in the socalled open practice... btw, are there clutch fans who are living in Sydney? the distance cannot obstruct the love ah...
