Ooooh, one of my favorite topics... Motown and Stax is where it's at...

Just about any Jamerson bass line is fantastic... but some standouts to me:

    "Darling Dear" - Jackson 5
    "Bernadette" - Four Tops
"Heard it through the Grapevine" - I like the Marvin one, but I prefer the Gladys Knight and the Pips' version

    And non-Jamerson ones...

    "Super Bad" - James Brown
"What is Hip?" - Tower of Power
    "Ghetto" - Donny Hathaway
"Born under a Bad Sign" - Albert King
"Eloise (Hang on in there)" - William Bell
"The Memphis Train" - Rufus Thomas

I could go on and on and on...

Good Times - Chic (Bernard Edwards)
Express Yourself - Charles Wright & the Watts 103rd Street Rhythm Band (have read conflicting stories, including one attributing it to James Jamerson)
What's Going On - Marvin Gaye (James Jamerson)
La Femme D'Argent - Air (Some French dude)
Roundabout - Yes (Chris Squire - I hate Yes, but I really like this bassline)
She's Lost Control - Joy Division (Peter Hook)
Pusherman - Curtis Mayfield (don't know)
Whores - Jane's Addiction (Eric Avery)

Being a bass player myself, I tend to be more interested in how bassists work their way under a chord progression and melody. They may not play something hummable but they add depth to the parts that most people hum.

    "Longview" - Green Day

Partly because I was able to learn how to play it, and despite its simplicity, I never get tired of hearing it.
