maybe even a fourth or fifth team, but the Rockets need to do whatever it takes short of trading Yao or Tmac (and maybe Battier). this becomes the number one offseason priority. after this, they will still have the MLE.

Tyson Chandler has been traded to New Orleans for P.J. Brown.

I really like Chandler and think the Camby comparisons are valid. The problem is what do you trade for him? and how do you justify that contract? Unless we find a way to unload Howard(never going to happen) a deal is next to impossible.

In my opinion, Chandler would be perfect for us. I know he's insanely expensive for his output, BUT, we need youth, depth, rebounding and good defense, and if we "want to win now," we'll have to go over the luxury tax. He is strong at the end of games. He would provide solid depth at the 5,4,3, and even 2. That's FOUR positions we gain depth. He's very smart, not like "not so Swift."

Right now, he's fallen out of favor, so we have a limited opportunity to pick him up. We should take it. PERIOD. Regardless of expense. If that means sending them Luther and Howard, who are local heros and a future draft pick or even picks, we should do it ... whatever they'd be willing to take.

So, he has no offense. If we pick up James, we'll have our outside shooting, and other times we'd have Battier at the 4, and Chandler could play the 3, while TMac moves over to the 2, or vice-versa. We could sure use a killer rebounder on this team.

Now, if they were willing to take an expiring contract with Bob Sura, and throw in Duhon, even if it meant us sending them 2 first round picks, we'd have a killer off-season.

All that would be left would be to pick up Padgett again.

    Yao/Mutombo/(Chandler)
    Battier/Chandler/Hayes/Padgett
    TMac/(Chandler)/(Battier)/Bowen/Novak
    James/(Chandler)/(Battier)/(Novak)
    Duhon/Alston/(James)

IF we pulled off something like that, then I'd be thrilled with our off-season. They have to pull of something after the draft debacle. It will only be acceptable if it's somehow part of a larger picture that makes sense.

The Bulls will still have a problem scoring in close games. I don't see anybody on their roster who can close games out. This will definitely hurt the Pistons, but I think Wallace is nowhere near worth that kind of salary. He gives you absolutely nothing on offense and he is not the defensive force as his reputation would lead you to believe.

As for Chandler- no way. He's passive, has back problems, makes way too much money and can't shoot. Other than that he's perfect!

    Totally agree with you
i 've just heard that Swift rejected to return to memphis
so the trade btw Houston and Memphis will probably blow out
but West really wants to get Gay
he is trying to talk to Raptors about any trade possible among 3 teams

and so my dream ends. :( i think of Ben Wallace's stats before he went to Detroit. they were eerily similar to Chandler's. not to say that Chandler is going to blow up in New Orleans, but it doesn't matter now.

Maybe for a Juwan and Sura salary dump; even then, it's a huge risk.

it's not a huge risk. Sura is just wasting around $4 million. Juwan is grossly underachieving for almost $7 million and only going to get worse. Chandler is not going to get worse. even if he shows little improvement throughout his career, for what he brings there will be teams willing to trade for him. the only thing preventing him from having Ben Wallace numbers is foul trouble. something that worsened when Eddy Curry was traded away. but i'm through getting my hopes up for nothing.

The Baby Bulls are going to be so crazy good! they are awesome as if they dont have enough they also get another young talent in jr smith and more cap room for next year with pj's expiring! I dont really have any connections to the bulls but man o man i might just have to root(behind the roxs of course) for those bulls! i love how they have built this team!

Scott Skiles and Gundy stress defense first and chandler is good at d. The only knock is he doesnt have an offensive game. He'll block shots and get rebounds but thats about it. I liken him to a cato type but with alot of energy.Gets into foul trouble.

They will be a tough defensive team for sure but they just threw A LOT OF MONEY at a guy who has no offensive skills. I like Wallace(Ben that is) but you gotta scratch your head at why they gave 60 mil to a 32 year old defensive specialist when they were already the best defensive team in the NBA last year(42% opponent FG%)...I guess they do get a "face of the franchise" in Big Ben.

It makes a little more sense if they trade Chandler but I don't see how they make the Smith/Brown deal work with Chandler's large contract. They need a scorer but it's not likely they get the type of scorer they need out of Smith.

....something tells me a team with a lot of youth & toughness like the Bulls will be a serious trade partner for the Rockets should they ever decide to trade Tmac. I'm just saying if the Bulls get frustrated not being able to score and the Rockets get frutrated with Tmac's back, you gotta think these two teams will at least consider their options....

So New Orleans got Peja/Tyson. We trade Rudy to Memphis!
our division is the strongest one in the league. I doubt can we make the playoffs next season.
