All of y'all are forgetting that Ralph Sampson at the time was considered a far far better player than either Clyde or Jordan. For the Rockets to have traded Sampson for Clyde or Jordan would've struck many like the Texans drafting Mario Williams over Vince Young and Reggie Bush.
