Not sure this has been posted. Someone on another board posted this interview in a Seattle radio station. He basically suggests that he expects a team to trade up into the top 6 to get him. The two biggest possibilities to me seem to be Houston and the Lakers who both had/will have workouts with him. http://www.softycentral.com/ssnds2006/060622,broy.ram
H-dub, I am going to be nice since you are new around here, it is NEVER ok to call someone names because their opinion is different than yours. FYI- I am sure I have been a Rockets fan longer than you, and by your comments, probably longer than you have been alive. Don't ever call me an idiot again, comprende? And at least learn to spell correctly when you are questioning someone's intelligence. DD
Oh it hurts! Even still, I'd have to do it. I love Head, but we need a legitimate starting SG with size. Head isn't that. It's sad though. We don't need to lose any of our servicable rotation guys. Especially one of the only ones who was healthy last season.
A last bit of glory for CD? Getting Roy would be a pretty great parting gesture! I could see us moving up to #5. I guess you make a contingent deal and pull the trigger on the clock.
Well, if we do it, you have to look at it as lucky that we managed to draft a piece last year that's worth something in a trade. We drafted a tradeable asset, and we ended up needing one as badly as we need anything. If Luther was a veteran with the same skills and upside, I don't think anyone would be quite as reluctant to pull the trigger.
suddenly, those who want to fight for any bit of wins at the end of last season don't seem to be so smart. And that includes Mr. VG.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Portland offered Dmiles the 30th and 31st pick in exchange for Juwan Howard and the 8th pick. Do you think Houston did the right thing? i herad this happend im glad they rejected!!!
You heard it happened from draftexpress.com. If you're going to post something at least post a source along with it. http://www.draftexpress.com/viewarticle.php?a=1366
If we get stuck with only the 8th pick...Carney will be fine. But if by some miracle we move up to say the 6th , Roy is by far the most well rounded player out there. Just look at the guy's numbers... Season Averages SEASON MIN PTS REB AST TO A/T STL BLK PF FG% FT% 3P% PPS 2002-2003 17.2 6.1 2.9 1.0 1.4 .72 .3 .2 1.2 .500 .486 .100 1.32 2003-2004 30.3 12.9 5.3 3.3 2.7 1.21 1.2 .4 2.4 .480 .785 .222 1.33 2004-2005 24.2 12.8 5.0 2.2 1.5 1.45 .6 .3 1.9 .565 .741 .350 1.43 2005-2006 31.7 20.2 5.6 4.1 2.3 1.80 1.4 .8 2.5 .508 .810 .402 1.48 Yep...that's 50% indeed from the field and the Huskies faced a lot better teams than did Memphis in the C-USA. You just absolutely gotta go Roy if he's there. Now of course that's only if no one like Thomas or Morrison Gay aren't there. Roy however is definitely over all the rest!
I think this would be RIDICULOUS!!!! Head is a great player and has so much upside. All that just to go up TWO SPOTS???? For who???? And don't tell me that ROY kid. He's good but not great. In fact, he does nothing great. He's gonna be maybe just above average. I say trade DOWN, pick up maybe a late 1st rounder, draft Redick anywhere between 11-14, have him as your starting 2 guard and put Head behind him as back up. You're getting Sura back so your point is ok with him and Alston. Maybe draft a decent back up SF in the late 1st round to back up Mcgrady. OR sign Matt Harpring. And if you still have a 2nd round pick (if not traded in the trading down), pick up a backup center for yao as DEKE isn't gonna be around forever. There ya go, that's your season done right. You just picked up two great shooters in Redick and Harpring (which you don't have now), you get Sura back at the point to back up Alston, you fill all your needs and have a chance to actually compete in the playoffs you're now bound to be in.
Everyone is saying Brandon Roy or Rodney Carney, How about Randy Foye.
