    # 5 spot has been very lucky in the past and the trend continues. We got lucky with #5 when we picked Yao.

He's talking about the NBA Draft lottery :)

This year, Toronto was the 5th worst team ... and won the lotto.
In 2002, Houston was the 5th worst team ... and won the lotto.

I think what he was saying is the team that is supposed to pick 5th usually ends up doing better and winning the lottery, like the Rockets when they were supposed to pick 5th.

Toronto just won the lottery out of the #5 slot.

When the Rox won the Yao Ming lottery, they were also at the #5 slot.

I think what he meant to say was that we were ranked #5 (yeah it was that bad) that year and we ended up winning the lottery to get the #1 pick. In fact if I remembered right after we drew the winning number combination, the next number combination that year also was one of the numbers the rockets had.

#8 isnt bad but its not great either hopefully gay or roy drops to us

Chicago also gets the right 2 switch picks with NY next year. If Chi-town gets the 20th and NY gets #1 New Yorkers wll send Thomas straight to the guillotine.

Isn't 8 supposed to be a lucky number for the Chinese? Good thing we have a very large Chinese person.

I just realized how dumb it is for me to be so dissapointed when we only had a 2.3% chance. I honestly felt like it was going to go our way. What homer behavior. :)

That is just unbelievable. I could let the first season pass. Thomas had just signed Curry and Larry Brown and probably figured that line-up couldn't possibly be the worst in the league. (Even though you always protect your lottery pick). But to do it for a second straight season? Where Greg Oden awaits? Man.

Here's how I'd like it to go:

    1. Toronto- Bargnani
    2. Chicago- Aldridge
    3. Charlotte- Morrison
    4. Portland- Thomas
    5. Atlanta- Gay
    6. Minny- Foye
    7. Boston- O'Bryant
    8. Houston- Roy

The key is that Minny and Boston need to go center or PG. That would drop Roy into our laps.

    Please.

Call me a hater, but I'm more pleased that Bos or Min didn't move up. If one of them would've gotten the #1 pick after we blew our chances at the end of the yr....

If the Raptors don't take a swingman then I can see Gay or Roy falling to us (assuming Morrison goes high).

You could also hope that Marcus Williams is thrown in there as well and Atlanta might take him. I think Minny will take a wing player, Marcus Banks could work out there, no?

But we definately need those two teams to draft for need.
