R.F. 66, Pippen is great. Barkley is great, too. But Barkley could carry a team and Pippen has to be carried. Enough said.
Pippen is a role-player and Barkley is a super-star. In my opinion, Pippen is one of the most over-rated players to ever play the game. People say that Michael couldn't have won without him, but I don't think they would have won without Wennington, Harper, or Rodman either. Pippen doesn't deserve to be on the NBA's Top 50, he hasn't really accomplished anything at all, besides playing with one of the best player's to hit the NBA in the last decade.

If the question was who was the better ALL AROUND player, then a case can be made for Pippen over Barkley based on Pippens rep as a great one-on-one defender (though this rep has been smudged a bit these last few years). However, even considering Pippen's defense, my personal preference is Barkley over Pippen (Chuck's DEFENSIVE rebounding skills make up (somewhat) for his lack of one-on-one defense). Offensively, though, Barkley is far and above the better player. Now, if the question was who was the better player, period? It's a no-brainer. The numbers don't lie. Up until this year, Barkley has ALWAYS been a better player than Pippen.
