Mason didn't punch Yao in the head. That still pic is misleading.

That being said, Mason is a bit of a punk for dumping Yao like that after he blocked his shot. Uncalled for, but we've all seen worse things.

Pictures don't lie, I guess it happened pretty fast, if you didn't pay attention and were not at the right angle, you won't notice that.

Considering our bench cleared and that is a manditory suspension, I'd be happier if Stern heard nothing of the entire incident.

    Hey Codell,
I saw the game with my girlfriend, she and I both saw Mason took a swipe at Yao's head, let's ask everyone whether Mason did punch Yao or not, if we both can see it live in real time, it wouldn't be too hard to see it again in a still frame!

Codell I saw it clearly on the replay last night. I'd call it more of a slap though. I agree I can't really tell much from the picture though.

I kinda understand why Mason pulled that off. it's bad enough to have his shot blocked. and it's embarrassing to end up on the floor with head in between Yao's legs. maybe as a former dunk champion, that hurt his pride somewhat.

Mason's had just been pushed by Howard and seemed to be somewhat turning and reacting to that, not taking a swipe at Yao based on the multiple replays and multiple angles I saw.

I saw that too. Mason got up and took a quick swing at Yao’s head. It was pretty quick, but you can see it clearly on slow motion play-back.

codell are you sure you were not watching Seinfeld?

EDIT: I watched the video through the link provided by bob718. It was not funny. The refs blew the call for not ejecting that punk. Un-freakin'-believable.

I saw it.. Mason Hit Yao.

And guys, that was a bit of a de javu. That was the same thing PJ Brown did to either Ward or Childs during a free throw years back, in NY Knicks game that ended up in an ugly brawl.

it's unbelievable we have a 10000plus poster tried hard to protect the player who punched our player.

I need Stern's e-mail address, please let me know if you have it. I am going to e-mail the picture to him evrey day if I don't hear any decision on Mason's behavior next week.

After all violence should be allowed in NBA, am I right?

That's not a very mature thing to say. Seriously, you think Codell hates Yao so much?
