nope that was a neighboring townhome complex just 25 feet from my place. i liked the tooth as well, but I also liked his neighbor, the Quizno's who used Frito Lays boxes to tape to the windows.
I also found it odd that so many businesses used vans and trucks to block windows... smart I guess. Other comments: That one shot of the business under "Darque Tan" with the cars was the ONLY establishment that was still open (beside's Sunny's... which we didn't try to enter and there were no cars outside)... but that place that was open (with a neon open sign and a full parking lot) was some sort of japanese sake bar or something... Lots of poor homeless people walking the streets with nowhere to go. There were actually cars in front of Baby Dolls... guess strippers don't "hunker down"
I've never seen a major grocery store's parking lot completely empty in Houston before, much less a Walmart. That's so crazy.
LOL! That was funny drapg, thanks for posting those pics. Anyways, y'all stay safe, and if all else fails and it floods in Houston, drapg will pick us all up in his H3
Any restaurants still open? I am starting to get hungry here, and I am already getting sick of eating Dorito's
Starting to mist over here on the west side. The lights flickered once about 45 minutes ago, but nothing since then.
I'm over here at my parents near Bellaire and Hwy 6. Slight misting, some wind but our electricity has not been threatened.
Everyone staying for the storm, please be careful and may God watch over you and your loved ones, as well as all that couldn't make it out of the storm path. Check in as soon as you safely and conveiently can so we can account for your safety. God Bless and Good Luck.
I am now in Lubbock. My mom got scared so we decided to head up here. My best wishes to those still in the path of Rita.
me and the family will be riding it out in houston. so far so good, and how traffic was looking the other day, we're almost glad we ain't try to evacuate.
Things are pretty weak on the west/south west side of houston. We aren't riding the storm out anymore, we are sitting it out. We went driving on Westheimer and I think I saw a Slick Willies open. We went to Memorial hoping to find a downed tree, saw one.
winds, ughhh, they ARE coming in at a whopping level... Speaking of whopping... Has anyone tried out the new "Thick 'N' Hearty Burger"???
Uh oh... Much to y'all's chagrin, I've been having palpatations with my power source and could be down soon. DAMNIT!!
I can't believe people were genuinly worried about this storm. This was such a weak storm it ain't even funny. I didn't lose my power/water or anything for even 1 second! There are no downed trees/power lines or whatever in this area, there is not even half an inch of water, in fact, there is no water accumulating anywhere! Yah, well, I just hope businesses are up and running today, I am sick of sitting home doing nothing
