i'm listening to the radio, x&y, and the fragile (i know... it's old, but such a good album). btw... if anyone is listening to common's new album, please let me know how it is. i've been thinking about getting it (especially after hearing "go"). i've been a fan since the mid 90's.

lol... funny you mention that. i have my alarm clock programmed to play that cd on song three... "anna" or "ana". not the most uplifting song to hear when you first wake up, but a good song nonetheless.
No no....it's a GREAT album. By the way, there doesnt seem to be much press about it but tickets for NIN's fall tour in Houston go on sale this Saturday. As for me, I've been on a big Massive Attack kick lately. Mostly listening to Mezzanine and 100th Window.

isnt that record rediculous? i just heard it for the first time yesterday. good to see him going back to his raunchy roots after happy people/u saved me. that song "in the kitchen" where he goes "girl, i just want to toss your salad" or "sex weed" where he sings about wanting a girls "sticky-icky". "girl you got that sex weed - i just want to hit it - let me take a puff of your sex weed" the cd includes a dvd w/ a 5 part video for "in the closet". you must watch! it is the most hilarious thing ive seen in awhile. i used to think most of his stuff was tounge in cheek, but after seeing this im not so sure anymore...which of course makes it even funnier. cocteau twins - cd singles box set - one of those bands who put out great singles. most of my favorite songs of theirs were from their singles. rolling stones - beggars banquet - not quite as good as exile on main street or sticky fingers, but its up there. white stripes - get behind me satan - never been a big stripes fan, but this cd is great - its their "beggars banquet" - mostly acoustic and more traditional blues/country than their other stuff. the glove - blue sunshine - robert smith of the cure and steve servin of siouxisie and the banshees in 1983 - taking tons of acid and doing some very interesting shimmering psychedellic pop. tom ze - brazillian tropicallia - a bit wierder than caetano veloso or jorge ben. he's my favorite of the tropicallia movement.
widespread panic - 3/29/97 the warfield - san fran,CA widespread panic - 1/23/96 mile high club - breckenridge, CO drive-by truckers - southern rock opera leftover salmon mix allman brothers band - greatest hits (69-79 i think) talking heads mix north mississippi allstars mix assorted panic streams (bonarroo '05, red rocks '05 & '02, chicago '97... off the top of my head) overall, a very heady mix of music.....
have you ever heard "land of many churches"? its merle and his band playing a bunch of traditional gospel songs. recorded in like 3 or 4 different churches in the early 70's. some very inspired stuff and my favorite thing he has done. i loaned my copy out to someone and i cant remember who! i need that disk back.
